In fact, many Chileans migrated to California during the Gold Rush era (1848-51) as miners & they contributed to the development of California as a state, esp. San Francisco. Good to know many countries in the world were involved in the occupation of post-Saddam Iraq & we the USA supports you Chile. +

@ElliottDaux Yeah, Murieta was thought to be born in Chile, others claimed Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico. His father was wealthy but his maternal side were Anglo or Cherokee. Joaquin Murieta is an example of Cherokee descendants in Latin America, but that was before the forced removal (the "Trail of Tears") in the 1830s when they came to Indian territory, now Oklahoma. Chileans are rather diverse, some are northern/ western European, Middle Eastern & of Asian descent, but very few Afro-Chileans. +

Yes, the Chileans are diverse. But most of the population origin is northern Spain, after immigrants arrived from other parts of Europe, and during the war mediooriente Pacific Asians were released (they were exclaves in Peru) and Afro-Chileans are few because I just brought a few and given the freedom to much, it was to bring African business.

Basques were a major influence in settling Chile, but there were French, Italians, Irish, Scots, English, Dutch, Flemish, Germans, Austrians, Poles, Croats, Serbs, Greeks & Palestinians/Arabs into the mix. Chile like Argentina & Uruguay is a "Little Europe" in south America, almost like Australia or New Zealand.+

He wrote on the origin of Chileans are Goths whom settled northern Spain, but a marital race remained culturally distinct from Latin Spaniards. He stated a Germanic cultural imprint existed in Chile, but to explain most Chileans' Amerindian ancestry: when they colonized the region for Spain, they met & mixed with a similar marital race the Mapuche. +

Si quieres ir a la legion 1- tienes que ir a la embajada de francia, queda en santiago en metro El salvador..no recuerdo la calle lo se por que yo tambien quise ir a la legion alli te daran un intructivo.el dinero que tienes que tener ..visa etc.el viaje corre por cuenta tuya. en el intructivo dice la ciudad donde esta ubicado el canton en idioma chilensis.Rcuerdo que en ese tiempo la preseleccion era en paris de ahi te enviavan a Lille , nantes que son la mas crcanas y sale mas modico en tren
