  • I have the Jaguar version and this version for the 3do is way better(kicks ass). I just pick up a 3do and some games. I'm getting this one for sure. Thanks for the upload!!

  • looks better than black ops thats for sure

  • WOLFSTEIN ...because nazi are bad!

  • German blue guard,Y U No say Mian laiben.

  • @Mr234Wtf Yeah, that'd be cool to hear in MAC/JAG/3DO speech, it would probably sound bad ass!

  • best console port of wolf 3d

  • Is there a good 3DO emulator?

  • Don't know. I've never used one.

  • @elbryan42 try FreeDO

  • @MrOcelot9 the only good one i found was called freeDO which is the best and only playable 3DO emulator alive :(

it aint the best emulator cuz sometime it makes you lag

idk if it could be me using windows vista or wrong PC capabilities (its not just me playing doom it i also tried wing commander 3 and woody the woodpecker and they both lag) and so i bought me the actual system instead which it cool (got it on ebay) model 3 by goldstar. got 2 games for it wolf3d and gex

  • @MrOcelot9 FreeDo. With a computer good enough to run it it's essentially perfect. On a less than adequate computer the speed will be manageable and the sound horrible. If you're looking for this version of Wolfenstein in particular, it's pretty much a straight port of the Macintosh pre OSX version, so get a Mac that runs a pre OSX OS, a Mac with OSX 10.4 or below and Classic Environment, or a Mac pre OSX emulator (Sysem 9, 8, etc) if you just want this.

  • @MrOcelot9 FreeDo is pretty nice, but even better there's a modification of it called 4DO which is near-perfect. Still needs some work to be truly amazing, but for now you can run the games in 4:3 with whatever resolution you want, (no 16:9 yet) basically max speed, and only slightly buggy sound. Compatibility is pretty great too.

  • I love the 3DO :D The disk Drive in ours died. ;(

  • @elbryan42 Seen the "Hitler Reacts to Wolfenstein 3D" vid, by OtterVomit? Somehow, I had a feeling you were the one who made him bring out the big guns...^_^

  • elbryan42, wouldn't you say that they give you a little too much ammo in this game?

  • Alright! *puts sunglasses on* YEAAAAHHHHHHH!!!

  • ALRIGHT!

    YEAH!

    I like this guy's voice.

  • The sound in this is amazing!

  • The changun's barrels don't rotate

  • best soundtrack goes to this port... its so fucking epic.... i fucking hate the adlib does music

  • Everything about this is just... awesome...

  • @Zeanu All it's missing is "mein leben!"

....and I guess the other 30 levels that are cut out of every port would've been cool. ... And maybe General Fatass but he was never really as fitting for a final boss as Mech Hitler anyways.

  • @theant1987 Yep, hehe, "MEIN LEBEN!" But eh I can't complain, this really is the best port. Thing is when you get excellence, you want MORE, as such, I wouldn't have minded more voice-overs. But ah c'mon, this is like a Steven Spielberg game.

  • dam your good

  • My favorite version of Wolf3D by far!

  • @HerecomestheCalavera well you cant fined a better version than the 3DO version its pretty much more playable than the jaguar port

  • the snes's versions music is better but this version has more details.

  • @joseakadaman the 3DO port has completely different music than ALL of the other ports + with CD quality music. so no the snes does not have the most detail of music even the jaguar port has more datail of the music than SNES

so the only good thing about the SNES is the controls (great controls)

the only good thing about the jaguar port is just graphics

BUT the 3DO is best of all

  • The one thing I can actually find dissappointing is that the enemies don't face anywhere but you. They just moonwalk back or strafe or move towards you. :P

  • @ESFAndy011 the snes-jaguar-3DO-MAC are teh ones with 1 sided enemies

  • @killkenny5000 OK but... isn't that all the ones with graphics like this? Because that's the ones I'm talking about, Wolfenstein's with graphics like this.

  • @ESFAndy011 its not the graphics that makes the game good -_-

  • @ESFAndy011 they just decided to add more detail thats it but if they like to add something new then thats a whole different story

  • cara, qto tempo não jogo...

  • IMO this is the best version of Wolf 3D, better than the PC version I think. I would have never thought I would actually be playing and enjoying Wolf 3D in 2011, but I was pleasantly surprised when I popped it into the 3DO.

  • I suppose that the Jaguar version is much better for many of us, lol, a desertion by the Sprite "are the weapons of DOOM, lol, so I wanted to be, and also has better sound Weapons Shooting, well that My point jejej =)

  • Hmmm..... Here I thought there was gonna be lag on this game, like DOOM on the system but am actually suprised. Do you have any idea why it doesn't? Just curious.... Thanks

  • It's because Doom was a crap port done by Art Data. The 3DO is more than capable of running Doom (Wolf3D, Quarantine, POed and others all run much better), but the game wasn't made right. You can't base your assumptions about a system based on one game. Even if that game is Doom, which should not have been screwed up. The Saturn port is actually worse, IMHO.

  • Ok thanks I was just curious. I didn't mean that the console was bad, I actually really like it and think it's amazing. I own one to. I only have three games though but hope to get more.

  • @elbryan42 why do you hate the saturn port more than 3DO

  • Because, the 3DO version is more playable.

  • @elbryan42 Can I have Permission to use this clip on one of my rants?

  • Sure.

  • I think this is the most epic version of all Wolfenstein 3D versions.

  • 0:15 is it just me or does that remind me of a dalek

  • @OpticSmosh He said, "Toeten Sie!"

  • about 1/2 a year ago a friend gave me his Panasonic 3DO and I found Wolf3D for the 3DO on Ebay. I like it better than the DOS version.

As for the Jag, The only thing I like about the Jaguar version is it does have decent upgrade of the original Wolf3D soundtrack, but I find the 3DO's music more epic. It feels like a movie's soundtrack in some ways.

Cool gameplay, Rob. Especially later on. I find your close call in the Episode 5's boss a real show of skill - you pulled it off :)

  • I own the Jaguar version, as well as almost every other version.

Please, explain why it's better. I have PLENTY of reasons why I feel that the Jaguar version is vastly inferior. But not one person has given me a good reason why the Jaguar version is better. The graphics are great on the Jaguar, that's the only thing it does better.

  • The Jaguar version only has 30 levels (the 3DO has 90), the Jaguar doesn't have circle strafing (strafing and turning at the same time, which all other versions have), the Jaguar doesn't have a points or lives system (thus, making it too easy with the treasure and 1ups counting as health), the Jaguar doesn't allow you to use your knife, pistol, or machinegun after you pick up the chaingun (the 3DO version does).

So please, explain how the Jaguar is better.

  • @elbryan42 The one thing that the Jaguar beats the 3DO on is the screen resolution. You can see the whole screen without that status bar on the bottom.

  • @elbryan42 well the graphics are good in the jaguar port better than 3DO and the music has like a higher quality with music than the PC port

but i did got a 3do and wolf3d which i do love it alot better than the jaguar even i dont have a jaguar :l but ide rather not have a jaguar cuz of they that atari crapped it out

  • @elbryan42 the-3do-vesion-is-better-because-graphics-dont-make-a-game

  • @elbryan42 I suppose that the Jaguar version is much better for many of us, lol, a desertion by the Sprite "are the weapons of DOOM, lol, so I wanted to be, and also has better sound Weapons Shooting, well that My point jejej =)

  • @EdgarIX hell no

the jaguar (30 level-high quality original music-good graphics but thats it)

    the 3DO (completely different music-90 levels-2nd best graphics-better control)

and also the sound effects from the jaguar port are same sounds effects from the SNES port

  • @killkenny5000 Yes, but note that the 3D0 is a CD version, however the Jaguar version has great graphics eventhough it is a cartridge like 4mb, impressive, is not it?

  • @EdgarIX Please, explain why it's better. I have PLENTY of reasons why I feel that the Jaguar version is vastly inferior. But not one person has given me a good reason why the Jaguar version is better. The graphics are great on the Jaguar, that's the only thing it does better.

  • @EdgarIX The Jaguar version only has 30 levels (the 3DO has 90), the Jaguar doesn't have circle strafing (strafing and turning at the same time, which all other versions have), the Jaguar doesn't have a points or lives system (thus, making it too easy with the treasure and 1ups counting as health), the Jaguar doesn't allow you to use your knife, pistol, or machinegun after you pick up the chaingun (the 3DO version does).

So please, explain how the Jaguar is better.

  • @killkenny5000 that's true, but like I said, that's what I had before, and apart from the Jaguar version, many more than we liked the 3DO, because they have weapons sprites in the game of DOOM, and if it was uncomfortable for 3 buttons, but you get used to, well that's all ......

  • @EdgarIX thats why its best to stay with the 3DO port cuz the control is much better and longer lasting gameplay

it doesnt matter that the jaguar has better graphics the gameplay still isnt as good as the 3DO version nor SNES

    for control-snes

    for gameplay-3DO and MAC

    for graphics-jaguar

also the jaguar u cant switch back to SMG nor PISTOL and KNIFE

all the other ports u can

so pretty much all the other ports (except GBA) are alot better than the jaguar

  • @EdgarIX ppl just dont even understand the large disappointments that the jaguar port is

    u use tressure as health

    u cant circle stafe

u cant switch back to pistol-smg-knife

    only 30 levels (while GBA-PS3/360-PC has 60 and MAC-3Do has 90)

    bad control

rip off sound effects from the snes port

and no awesome random music like the MAC and 3DO has

the only good thing about the port is just the graphics thats it end of story

  • @killkenny5000 ok. but I like more jaguar ami, in spite of the year it is, and the sounds of the weapons are better than the 3DO, but anyway, good that you like 3DO, ami no, but I like jaguar, and if you do not ati like it, do not play

  • @EdgarIX their the same gun sound from snes didnt you see the last comment

rip off sound effects from snes

  • @elbryan42

I Actually think that the 3DO version looks better than the Jag version. It has brighter colours, cleaner visuals, sharper resolution, better sprites (Character Sprites may be more blockier), MUCH better textures, and too me it has a better framerate, the Jag version looks very inferior and just too much like a drawing.

  • I think if you want the closest wolfenstein port to the PC version on the console, get this version. Otherwise I would get the Atari Jaguar's port...

  • The perfect wolfestein 3d would be this one with the PC version musics

  • The biggest problem with this is the fact that the enemies only have one side. :/

  • The best version of W3D !!!

  • Wait, so there's only 4 weapons? (including knife)

  • The Jaguar, SNES, Mac and 3DO have 6 weapons. Knife, pistol, machinegun, chaingun, flamethrower and rocket launcher. The PC, GBA, XBox, and XBox360/PS3 versions have 4 weapons: the knife, pistol, machinegun and chaingun.

  • 3DO is the best port along with the Jaguar

  • This game is freaking impossible to lose. AI is so terrible you rarely ever get freaking hit. :\

  • @FakersInc

Play the original on PC and say that again...

  • you use a emulator or the original 3DO console?

  • I never use emulators. This is on a real Panasonic 3DO.

  • @elbryan42

I heard there was a piece of hardware made by 3DO that would let you play the 3DO console games on your computer. Don't think it did too well since most of the games already existed for PC anyway.

    Nice video though.

  • So THAT'S what Blazkowicz sounds like!

  • Wow the music is Awesome !

Whyyy couldn't they make doom 3do like this?... Whyyyy

  • Great sounds but I preffer the original gaurds vocies.

  • is this an just like the mac version but with different music?

  • Yup. Both games were made side by side at Interplay. The only difference besides the music that I can tell is the menu system, and the weapons are slightly bigger on the 3DO. Both have the most levels of the Wolf3D versions, 90 levels. :)

  • @elbryan42 ok, thanks

  • @elbryan42

i would have to say the 3DO version of wolf3d is better than mac cuz ur using a controller :)

  • for an old game its nice, but lol if the enemy ai units in this game were to fight the enemy ai units in the present day era ( COD, Gears, halo, etc ) they would be raped lol

  • @helghastelite You have to think of the AI in terms of the technology available. This game is written for processors that were about a thousand times weaker than today's processors (not exaggerating). More processing power allows for more sophisticated AI programs.

  • yeah i dont get it why do alot of consoles and portable games work better with wolf3d and doom2 and not doom1

  • wolfenstein 3-d is best on 3DO

doom idk might be PSX or jaguar or 3do or PC or xbox 360 -_-

  • nice floor

  • Even though it has updated graphics the mp40 still doesn't look like an mp40.

  • had a good look at my jag version, i'd say the jag wins, bigger game area.

looks like it reduced a bit in the screen in the 3do (makes me think the jag has much more procesing grunt) + and - with both systems) jag has better graphics cause its more modeled on the doom engine and just as fast and smooth, can live with the sound beign not quite as good coming from a cartridge.

but it is a good version on the 3do, would like to play it on the original hardware and give it a burl

  • not played this version while the jag version of doom wipes the floor with the 3do version, this version looks! damm good, sound is definetly better (which isnt suprising for a cd system) frame rate looks good.

this 3do game is the main reason i like to find a good cheap on ebay.

think there isnt much between the jag version and this, but think on this occassion the better sound adds slightly more than the jag version

  • I like 3DO

  • Jaguar version is better of Wolfenstein 3d is better. Especially as the Jaguar is processing the music at the same time, where as 3DO is playing it from CD.

  • The Original Version Is More Scarier....

    Than This Version....

    (spit)..

  • HOLY SHIT failed sytem AMAZING GAME i have played this sooooo much and to see this makes me want to but a 3DO!!!

  • dos-gritty

    mac(3do)-hq

  • Oh one of my first game :D (With Duke Nukem) Escape from the building that beware of nazis.:D And the boss in the end hahahaha:D Good old MSDOS :)

  • respect to the 3D0

  • OWT,AH,OWT,HAG!

  • the sounds and music are amazing in this version

  • I'd like to find a 3D0 version for Windows, if at all possible....

  • wow this version of the game is sick! makes me want to play it again!

  • hey its world at war in ....retro days...and its by ....ID SOFTWARE the greatest ever

  • looks to me like this port is a little easier

also, how could they cut out Mein Leben? its a classic line

  • esta version está censurada como la de super nintendo, no estan las cruces esbasticas

  • holy shit this version of the game makes it look epic! love the music and improved sound effects!

  • The PC version is better. :-/

  • Aside from the game, itself, I like the difficulty settings.

    Baby bonnet-"Can I play, Daddy?"

    Worried-"Don't hurt me."

    Sinister smile-"Bring 'em on!"

    Possessed-"I am Death incarnate!"

  • Wolfenstein. The game that started my love for the first person shooter!

  • Whoa! Much better then Doom port!

  • press M L I together for cheat code

  • You can't do that on the 3DO... That would be on the DOS version.

  • @elbryan42

lol im such an asshole. :P

  • @elbryan42

yeah i forgoten to mention that.. :P

By the way, thanks for making this video. It realy brings back the good old times

    Peace!

  • This is an alright port, I just can't help but feel like the PC version was still better. As for the person complaining about the SNES version, it was rather shocking considering they put Doom on the SNES. Doom on the SNES was tolerable, the music made it awesome though. How can they get Doom to be decent and totally screw up Wolf 3D? I just don't get it. Hell, even Noah's Arc 3D played better, and that's a travesty of gaming.

  • Damn this awesome. Why didn't they stick this one on Xbox Live Arcade? The port they put on Xbox Live Arcade was the exact same one that you unlock when you finish RTCW:ToW on Xbox.

  • I would stiff prefere the PC(dos) version over the 3DO version

  • I like the original sounds effects better somehow xD

It gives a good classic feeling :P

  • This is a great port, the movement is a LOT smoother than the PC version. Not to mention the sound and music is much improved, too. The guard pain sound is funny.

    HUH!

  • 5:56 Wow, that's a really big nazi.

  • Too bad the only 3DO emulator I know runs terribly slow, which means I can't play this. D:

  • This soundtrack is awesome

  • Oh my god, that was........awesome!

  • damn and i only see this now? The 3D0 was most definitely the best port. Wish i could have said the same about the Doom port for the same console...by the way the 1-3 music really kicks ass. o.o

  • i love this game awesome soundtrack

  • why didnt you pick up the first aid

  • Cool, the Jaguar and the 3DO versions are superior to the PC version.

  • 2:44

ROFL the nazis in blue go "YA YA YA YA" every time you shoot them xD!!

  • Fuck they did a good job remaking this game! The music and sound is so awesome. And the visual updates go easy on my eyes. Love it.

  • Lets not forget that this version came out about 2 years later, and after DOOM.

  • @JohnnyK98k Only problem is they only face towards you, I think.

  • What they need to do is patch 3 game ports together 3do sound, Jagur Sprite models, and PC Level design. So whoever can do that give it a shot.

  • well this game already has the best sprites and the level design is pretty close if not exactly the same as the pc version

  • I have played all ports of this game the PC version is much different than the console ports the levels are bigger, longer, and waaaaayyyy better then what was cooked up for the ported version. though i do like how this one really kicks the PC version in the ribs with its graphics.

  • Actually this port has all 60 uncut PC levels as well as the 30 console levels. :) Very cool port. Though the PC version definitely has its appeal. :)

  • Alright, who the HELL thumbed down this comment? This is an AWESOME idea.

  • this port is awesomesauce..... way better than the pc. but not sure about snes. i love the sound in this game.

  • The maps ARE different! Just look at level one! if you dont notice thedifferences then you're blond :P. There's not even the secret exit (1:52).

The graphics are different, i still like the PC ones better :P.

The SNES looks like shit rofl xD Even though it does have new weapons, the bad graphics make it unplayable

  • There's these maps (from the Jaguar and SNES versions), plus the PC ones on the 3DO version. 90 maps in all.

And graphics mean nothing. The SNES version has the best controls of all early Wolf3D ports.

  • @elbryan42 Yeah, but SNES was censored... Which lost it many sales... just like Mortal Kombat

  • who CARES!!!!!! Games aren't meant to be argued over! They're meant to be played! (snes had best control anyway)

  • the original was better than this because this is an inaccurate remake because the maps and models are different if i was anyone i would get skulltag and get a wolf 3d wad that works for it (which is exactly what i did)

  • GOD DAMN THIS GAME LOOKS AWESOME

  • It looks like a lot of these wolf ports are based on the SNES verson with impoved graphics

  • i have this on my pc

  • wow pretty sick music and sound, makes the iPhone port pretty pale in comparison.

  • 0:01 LMFAO!!!11 "Can i play Daddy? xD

  • Best music of all the ports. Wish Doom ran as nicely on the 3do as Wolfenstein. It has a great soundtrack just like this, but unfortunately it probably runs at about 15fps making it pretty hard to enjoy the game.

  • This is similar to the Jaguar port, which is awesome. I'm hoping to buy a 3D0 when I get some extra cash and I'll definately be getting this at some point.

  • Nice music. While I liked the original's, this gives more of a feeling of "chew on this, you Nazi bastards!"

Also, excellent port in general, as it improved other things like the graphics and voice acting.

  • The door sound gets really annoying. To me I think the best port for Wolfenstein is the gameboy advace version.

  • the dos version is better in terms of there is blood, the enemies sound funnier lol, and its a bit more challenging. but i like this versions background music its action like if you get me its just nausiating on original the graphics are a lot better this version obviously theres lot more facts but cba explaining lol just sit n enjoy eh

  • Actually, that's where your wrong. Their the same music!!!

  • Nope, sorry. Besides the similar title screen music, they're totally different.

  • Okay. I didn't realize.

  • this version actually looks great, a bit surprising since I've mostly heard bad things about the 3DO.

Have they increased the maximum ammunition you can carry? If I remember correctly you could only have 99 bullets in the DOS version, here you got 299, making the gatling gun a lot more useful (you could use up almost all your ammo in a few seconds in the DOS version).

  • Comment removed

  • wow they did a really good job with this. too bad the 3do port for doom wasnt as good.

  • Nice Port...Real Nice.

...now where are the other 7 levels of that floor?

And why isn't BJ jumping and screaming?

The guy just took down a super soldier with miniguns for hands!

    BE FREAKIN HAPPY MR. BLAZKOWICZ!!!!!

  • This is the 30 level console episode. The 60 PC levels are included as well. I just don't have vids of them. :P

  • Loved the music!

  • awesome version, but to me the best version of Wolf3d is the Atari Jag one

  • that games looks so fun

  • 0:47 still remember this sicret

  • This one actually had better quality music then the MAC version.

  • Actually, the 3DO version is the only console version with all 30 console levels (for the Jaguar and SNES) PLUS all 60 of the original PC levels. With much better graphics and the best music.

  • Graphics on the level of Conduit for the Wii.

  • классика. супер.

  • yee

  • The only advantages (as far as I can see) the console ports have (Including the 3DO one), is better graphical and sound quality (Especially 3DO because of CD audio tracks). However, I still like to think that the original PC version is the definitive version.

  • The only thing I don't like about the 3DO version is that the sprites were only drawn from the front, meaning that you can't sneak up on enemies like you could i the original. Also, the dogs' movements look ridiculous IMO (see 0:24).

  • I think that's with most high-resolution Wolfenstein 3d ports.

  • i downloaded this for my ipod touch, and i'm in the secret level (10) in episode 6 and it's kicking my ass.

  • does anyone know where i can get this for my com ?

  • You can buy it directly from id Software, or EBay.

  • i played this on my computer when i was little!

    IT WAS EPIC!!!
