The Dixie Stampede in Myrtle Beach hasn't closed down it's just been changed to a different theme it is now called Pirates Voyage I went there last night it was awesome a great show BUT NOTHING!!!! will ever take the place of The Dixie Stampede christmas show! especially The Manger Scene they had! I had been going to see that christmas show since I was very little & I cried every time I watched The Manger scene! But Pirates Voyage is very good
@elphabasfriend001 My Florida home is about 1 mile from it. From what I understand the person purchased it at the height of the Real Estate Boom and the value dropped after he did. They have tried at least two different businesses in that building. All those people lost jobs and it didn't have to happen. It was all about greed.
@VIDEOTIMEMACHINE Agreed. It's unfournate, but it happened. There were much better ways to handel it. " Dixie Stampede LLC, " still owns the land, and as of now, nothing. We'll see what6 happens. I have a feeling the land will be down, for some time.
you said it "some of the employees". those are the employees that kiss jim, jacks, and rocks butt. Just for your info im only one of a bunch of ex dixie employees that know the truth about that place, and feel the same way. It was a better company when fred ran it.Are you just some nobody sittng in an office takeing up for dixie cause thats what they pay you to do? Cause im sure your not one of us that has work while we were hurt, or went two weeks without a day off, or did 700 shows in a year.
@barnettt44 I have heard numerous statments about this, as well. I'm sorry, to hear about this. I love the show, and have heard something about change of managment, or something along those lines. I've also heard grim things about the herscherd family entertainment company, ( is that right? ) the comapny dollywood is branched off of. I just can't see this being omething miss. parton approves - of. If the new management, or whatever it was sucks. I'm so orry, and hope it gets better. :)
@EpicNoobBoyTV Quite a while ago, actually. Monday, January 13th, 2008. I was there one week before it closed, and there was absoulutly no sign of closing. O.O!!
If you people only knew the truth about that company, how crooked and back stabing they are. I know of one person out of all 4 facilities that they kept long enough for them to retire. The worktime span of an employee there on average is 5 years. The reason they closed was money... they couldn t make enough of it trying to compete with a better show arabian nights. How do I know i worked for two dixie locations.
@TheTkrodeo1 I'm really sorry to here that. I'e heard numerous things, not some much about The " Dollywood " Branch of The Company, but about the main copmany that they're branched - off of. I had a friend of a friend who lost their job here. Unfourtnatly that's the way of showbuiness, and more most tourist attractions. " Universal Studios " is crazy - bad, but they make their money. I give you ALOT of credit. I love " Dixie Stampede, " but I could never work their.
@TheTkrodeo1 Look it aint for every1! If you didnt like oh well, Some of the employees love it! Most of them do! But just because you dont like means that you can post on youtube! The 1 in MB is shuting down in Jan. And if 1 of the riders saw this, lord help you!
In case you did not know, the property was never sold, that is right the sale fell though and Dolly still owns the property and the building.. It just sits empty now... I do believe in Karma...
OK.. But too bad that the sale of the land fell through and the she now owns a empty building and lot that is not being used... I feel its a bit of sweet justice that the original deal was not handled properly.... so for now they just have to keep paying taxes on the location...

I didn't know until a few days ago that Dixie Stampede had closed. We went there today on our vacation to Orlando and it is the most LAME Flea Market I have ever laid eyes on! They didn't get BIG BUCKS for this CRAP okay? Shame on Dolly! GLAD I HAVE NEVER WORKED FOR HER. YUCK!
Yea, my only problume is that this one was the closes to me. But, I may go to The Myrtel Beach Location, and all three Locations are expected to remain open! Thats good. And, Now They Sell The oup Mix, Thats Cool!!!!
I Will Miss Dixie Stampede But Dolly was smart she saw The Right Oppertunity and took it she is a very smart funny a talented lady...
and workers did get 60 day compensation and alot where relocated to other dixie stampedes... Dolly used her finacial smarts... The Economy is bad... But Dixie Stampede Was still doing well i saw their last christmas show and it as packed... It was the first time i went to... but Dolly did what she had to do...
