Actually what we are doing now is insane. These bailouts and stimulus checks will be the base for a decade long depression and will lead to the dissolution of the United States.
We need real money (backed by gold, silver or commodities) and the Fed not setting interest rates. I believe the Fed should stay but become much more transparent in their activities. Printing money out of thin air or lowering interest rates (below market levels) turns our dollar into monopoly money and screws the poor most. THE FED NEEDS INTEGRITY NOT SECRETIVE PRIVATE BANKERS MAKING DEALS IN BACKROOMS.
The problem is the only tools at the Fed's disposal are printing more money out of thin air and lowering interest rates---which just adds fuel to the fire. The US is done for my friend unless integrity is created and this is not likely because of greed, pride and the elite desire for secrecy and control.

The bailout is trying to inject capital into the banks to prevent them from becoming insolvent. A few percent equity can prevent the whole institution from collapsing.

You don't need to destroy your economy in order to reduce inflation, interest rates, or debt.
We were able to reduce the federal debt from 108% GDP in 1946 to 24% GDP in 1974, inflation from 13% in 1980 to 2% in 1986 without a collapse.
We even changed monetary systems twice.

We need real money (backed by gold, silver or commodities) and the Fed not setting interest rates. I believe the Fed should stay but become much more transparent in their activities. Printing money out of thin air or lowering interest rates (below market levels) turns our dollar into monopoly money and screws the poor most. The bailout is trying to inject capital into the banks to prevent them from becoming insolvent. A few percent equity can prevent the whole institution from collapsing.

This should be a national debate. Ron Paul and the austrian economists make a lot of sense. If monetary policy became a debate in this country, we would choose a more rational solution of the money supply. Instead, Paul gets censored while the banks get what they want and all academics agree that the great depression was caused because the fed did not create enough money.
We are living under flawed assumptions and it is obvious. Look around you. Gas at 3.50 a gallon. We are in bad shape.

Personal Income taxes are at about 75% anyway. 30+% right off the top, then sales tax when you spend the rest, phone taxes, utility taxes, property taxes, school taxes, assessments, leans, impounds, mortages, capital gains, and on and on and on and on and on. Hell not only do you get taxes once, not twice, but multiply times over and over and over and over. Eventually every single penny you earn ends up in a tax collection.

The income tax is constitutional, no doubt. I believe the question is whether the IRS is constitutional.
It may be, but regardless, for anyone FED up with bernacke, join us on april 15. Protest at your local Federal Reserve Branch. This doesn't have to be about Ron Paul, it's about Americans saying enough is enough to the FED and their monetary schemes.

Interesting there wasn't a personal income tax until 1913 when the big banks and their cronies infiltrated congress and got it ramrodded through. Watch the documentary "The Money Masters" for insight.

The Freedom to Fascism video is interesting on the income tax concept,it appears the 16th was never ratified by all the 48 at the time states-which would have been a requirement.There is a legal tax for indirect taxation- gas,tabacco and such/however not on the direct tax of ones labor, on a federal level.

Before an amendment can become law it must be approved by the appropriate number of states. Have you seen how many states ratified that amendment? Check it out then come back.

Are any else of you noting that Ron Pauls message actually has meaning? Not unlike the vague message of Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton or the other Republicans. I love how he goes into good detail about his policies, what's causing the problem and begin digging up solutions.

When will you clowns stop calling him Dr.? The fact that he went to medical school means nothing except to his practice of medicine. And, if you insist on calling him Dr. then start calling the other physicians and surgeons in Congress who have M.D.s or Ph.D.s, Dr. as well.

That baby was put to bed 15 years ago. They were not written by him, he had dozens of articles written in his name at that time and the articles were TRUTH- facts that blacks are disadvantaged by the system on purpose and he doesn't think that is right. He is correct to speak out against blacks being in jail more than whites for drugs when whites use drugs more. That is not a racist statement. Try again McWarMonger.
