She totally wrote this song about Alisdair Gillis. Christine "Moose" McGlade was the other woman, not Lisa Ruddy or Vanessa Lindross as has been suggested. Listened to this on American Idol you guys need to really look and listen to the lyrics its about the guy who left her it's almost creep but she is singing very deeply right now she is angry.
I remember when she sang this song at the Grammy's and I thought it was so powerful. Many years later ( damn I'm getting old!) it sounds just as good if not better. It gives me chills every time I hear it and no Beyonce's version was definitely not as good as this but she did make people aware of Alanis which is great because she has some amazing music.
My theory on this song is that Alanis used to date the lead singer of the Spin Doctors, was the inspiration for "Little Miss Can't Be Wrong," and wrote this in retaliation.
That's why I love that she did this song. At the time she first came out Alanis used to be soo pissed everytime she did this I thought she'd burn the guy's house down after the show.
Shoot, on one of the live performances on here she downed a 40 right before singing and sung this in a huge ratty t-shirt and jeans in the rain of some outdoor concert...and I was so proud
I love how she just sings the song and doesn't feel the need to be half naked while dancing around or have all these special effects. She just lets the song speak for itself and sings.
Why did she not redo this song with Beyonce this year at the Grammy's I will never know. That would have been fantastic. I love this version and this song.

I remember when she sang this song at the Grammy's and I thought it was so powerful. Many years later ( damn I'm getting old!) it sounds just as good if not better. It gives me chills every time I hear it and no Beyonce's version was definitely not as good as this but she did make people aware of Alanis which is great because she has some amazing music.

My theory on this song is that Alanis used to date the lead singer of the Spin Doctors, was the inspiration for "Little Miss Can't Be Wrong," and wrote this in retaliation.

That's why I love that she did this song. At the time she first came out Alanis used to be soo pissed everytime she did this I thought she'd burn the guy's house down after the show.
Shoot, on one of the live performances on here she downed a 40 right before singing and sung this in a huge ratty t-shirt and jeans in the rain of some outdoor concert...and I was so proud

I love how she just sings the song and doesn't feel the need to be half naked while dancing around or have all these special effects. She just lets the song speak for itself and sings.
