Having so many undocumented people in the USA is creating a permanent underclass and this is against liberal, egalitarian principles. If we had amnesty then working class native-born Americans could work with the newly legal immigrants and have greater leverage against corporate power. What some of you do not seem to get is this. If we where trying to kick people out who followed the laws to come here and have some respect for our country (flying the US flag and not a foreign one, learning the language, assimilation) I would be fighting for them. Over 2 million LEGAL immigrants come to the USA a year and we are happy to have them. But that is not the issue is it? Its not "immigration" we are talking about. Immigration is not illegal. Illegal immigration is illegal! There is a difference, and we need to create a path to orderly benign ways to help people become illegal, unless they are criminals. See above first. We realistically will not be able to get rid of their citizenship. A PEW study found that the children of illegal immigrants speak "well"at a 84% rate and the third generation speak it well at a 93% rate. This means that the people who speak english, have jobs, have decades of assimilation under their belt,have steady jobs and 2/3 of whom pay all of their taxes(look it up its true) will be deported for assimilated people causing an initial economic depression and then quickly

A lot of these people, maybe not the ones shown in this video, had real and actual neighborhood issues to deal with, not unlike the college kids, but more complex because of language and cultural barriers. It is not a crime to be afraid of people who look and are different. And yes, their property rates were falling and it is easy to assume their new neighbors were the reason. The problem is that this knee-jerk Immigration Resolution hurts those people, and the rest of us too, more than it helps
