I think this song is my favourite in this film. She must of been SO FRUSTRATED playing this character as a young man but inside, she has all these loving feelings as a woman towards him, only telling him the truth at the end of the film. This song never fails to make me cry, tears rolling down my face, TRULY BEAUTIFUL!!

Life is too hard for all of us sometimes. Some of us just don't talk about it. This was probably one of my very favorite movies because it reminds you of how similar we all are as human beings, with our own secrets, sorrows, and joys. Barbara's voice is such a gift and so is this movie.

I think oumaziz is referring to the original short story by Singer on which the movie Yentl is based. In the story, it is strongly suggested that the title character has a gender identity crisis. This was left out of the movie completely--changing the story a good deal. Both are great stories, but they are quite different in many ways.
