  • Sad, so sad, feel lonely listening to it

  • Dreamy, langorous. Love this theme.

  • Happy 90th Birthday Bernard Herrmann!

  • Haha.I came here because of "between two ferns with Zach Galifianakis"

  • sax solo is by ronnie lang

  • It's in my top six scores, along with Bernard Herrman's (he wrote this one) Psycho and Vertigo, Jerry Goldsmith's :Chinatown", David Shire's "The Conversation", and whoever wrote the score for The Last Seduction.

  • rollin' down the wet night streets of Nuyok..

  • Who is the yo yo that dislikes this?

  • Tom Scott plays the sax lead. From the first note, you hear the sounds of the entire city pouring from his horn.

  • This song just symbolises the night streets of New York. So amazing.

  • Who the hell plays that sax?????

  • Bernard Herrmann...

    バーナード・ハーマン

    失礼しました^_^;

  • Herrmann was suppossed to do the film score for De Palma's Carrie after he finished Taxi Driver.

  • I think this Film score was the last one Herrmann ever did

  • @idiotboxx999 He died the day after they finished recording it.

  • This is the official ballad of the single man.

  • @DIJV79 in a big city!

  • What a great notes and feeling in this song, I was only a kid who did not had the musical skills at that time but surely felt this song. It always been on my mind ever since that movie...!!!!

    This is FEELING and SOUL!!

  • Correct composer's name is Bernard Herrmann, great tune anyway...

  • So haunting!

  • This is best.

He is the symbol of human's soul .

  • @sanmariecom Very well said my friend. He seems to encapsulate both the yin and the yang of humanity. He kills without a second thought, and yet he does so in the name of protecting the young. He wants companionship, and yet cannot play the social games we all play in order to get it. He believes in justice and yet wants to kill the fake and the corrupt by his own hand. Very much like a ronin samurai lost on the streets on NY carrying a .357 magnum. He is the symbol for humanity's soul indeed.

  • I understand Travis Bickle, I can feel him on a personnel level.

  • This song is loneliness.
