How come Sensei Guardia and Estevez were not at the promotion?

I don't like the way your belt was all uneven. Have some pride in your appearance. ...oh, and just what we need is another male Cuban black belt. Doesn't Olympic judo have enough to worry about with the female Cuban black belts. But I guess, you deserve some congratulations...for being faithful to judo all these long years. Maybe in a little while you can promote me...I'll take the test in your excellent garage training facility...course you gotta move all the boxes off the mats.

Congratulations!!! Even though only the right side was done I was pleasantly surprised with the excellent quality of your kata. I am wondering, did you skip doing the ma sutemi and yoko sutemi waza because of your partner's injury or is it not required for shodan under your Judo federation? Regardless, very well done and congratulations!

This was more of a symbolic thing to do since i have been a brown belt for about 10 years and they wanted to give me my black belt before the years end and I have not had the time to practice the kata. Luckily my partner is world class in kata competitions and although he acts as tori in competetion he was able to help do it with a day of practice. Thanks again!
