  • @TysiPhoneHelp360 yep. just cut the foam to 6.5 cm

  • this music sounds familiar

  • song?... i like it!

  • @CaptainSlug Can you make it the same length as a streamline and use it in a longshot with just AR removal?

  • damn you caps -.-

  • congraTS DUDE; THIS GETS IN MY cOLLECTION plAYLIST1

  • were do you buy these stuff from

  • Foam from Home Depot or other hardware stores work too, look for "Caulk Saver" or Foam Backer Rod. Terrible durability, but they work.

You might be better off sticking the hot glue to the dart body and then slapping on the tip, as the foam insulates and keeps the glue hot.

Putting a hole in the back of the dart makes it wear down faster, it'd be less effort to pull the peg out of your blaster. If your holes aren't straight they also kill your accuracy.

  • nice but what is the name of that song

  • what barrel material does that foam fit in for springers

  • i went to the forum and went to mcmaster.com and copy pasted the serial # for the fbr but can i buy i for a shorter length

  • I use the same foam as you!

  • lol u forgot the hole in the back... u cant shoot them without the hole cuz there a stick inside nerf guns that hold the dart by sticking the stick in the hole...

  • @dafdez

lol I don't have any unmodified Nerf guns that still have the peg or restrictors in them.

  • @dafdez lol you noob, FAIL.

  • @dafdez if you mod your guns you remove that post silly :)

  • @dafdez You can mod the gun the remove that thing...

  • sweet moozick where can I get it?

  • I noticed that there are no holed for the guide rail/air supressror.

I'm fine with this, as all my guns are modded.

  • @yutzwagon2 get a nail, if u want the hole anyway, heat it up and poke a hole into the rear of the dart, and i like to take a straw and put into the hole of the dart

    (extra stability)

  • Will these work out of a clip system blaster? Specifically out of a raider drum. With the AR's removed.

  • Do these work out of a CS blaster? WIth AR's removed. Specifically a raider drum.

  • u forgot to poke the hole in the bottom

  • @backyadbeaver only if air restructure are gone

  • Can you make streamline darts with this method o_o?

  • do these work in the recon

  • @BackYardBeaVer yeah

  • Thanks.

  • where's the hole in them!

  • @DRTrampboy123

don't need a hole! That is if you take the useless prongs out of the gun.

  • thnks i subbed awesome

  • wow a lot cheeper then stor bought.. and you can eveun choose your colors!

  • do these darts have a tight fit in 9/16th brass or 17/32nd brass?

  • Love the music.;)

  • these wont work in the nightfinder EX3! fuckin bad fate of luck

  • @TheReymysteriolover remove your air restrictors, and they should.

  • can u send me some of the nerf darts?

  • Mario remix?

  • Where can i get the foam Thanks :)

  • @mysim35 See link in description for instructions and supply sources.

  • i found out an easy way to use stefans in a stock gun: just take out the peg with pliers

  • Comment removed

  • Will it work for my recon?

  • those are for modded guns so angle breaches pvc guns and berrals not stock guns

  • If you lop the tips off of streamlines and use those in place of the FBR, you can use them in stock guns. There is a slight decrease in range, but it is more than made up for by the accuracy gains.

  • One of the best designs I've seen!

  • if u didnt take the AR out of your nerf gun and dont want to get a drill drill in the middle of the stefan try it out doesnt work try a bigger drill

  • Until Bordeom Sets In!!! Btw I find 1.5'' is a good length for my Stefans.

  • What is a good length to make my stefans?

  • were did u get the felt discs

  • great vid

  • "until bordem sets in" lol

  • how do u lodit in your gun there is no hole or do you take out the AR

  • @dragondude24 if you're going to make stefans you need to fully remove the x stick on the AR's, :-)

  • hmm, i wanna make stefans, but i cant get out a stripped screw from my nightfinder, i got all all other screws, but of course, one screw left, and its stripped, oy...

  • my stefans wont shoot in my longshot any help

  • Where can I get FBR in Arkansas? I checked Lowes and Home Depot, but they don't sell it. What other places are known to sell the stuff?

  • im not sure if its just canadian, but i get mine from Rona or Home Hardware.

I also find it in plumbing stores (idk why)

  • Yeah, I found some in the Lowes in McCain.

  • try ace hardware

  • Is there an ACE anywhere close? Other than that, um internet.

  • If I didn't make myself clear, I found some in Lowes.

  • where do u get the stuff that the darts are made of where u get it?

  • Its called Foam Backing Rod, but is also called Caulk Saver. It's at Home Depot and Lowes and places like that.

  • So this is good to replace streamlines with, to use on a Recon?

  • nice darts! where can i get the felt?

  • good vid, they are easy to make and dont require much skill

  • Awesome dies it fit recon cs-6 clip?

  • hey i made me some darts just like this they were 2.5inches long and they are not getting out of my stock longshot. can someone help me please?

  • no air is being pushed through. your AR is either not letting enough air or theres a leak in your stefans

  • i get my foam at home depot in my opinion its easier to find its just called "backer rod"

  • Dartsmithing, WTF!

  • wat is the foam called and were do u get it

  • you can get grey at lowes. its called caulk saver. remember to get 1/2'' version

  • im not realy getting it for a nerf gun i want it for my air cannon or my spud gun so do u no wat the bigest is ?

  • most common to find thats the biggest ive seen is 5/8 but i know you can find bigger

  • Look in the description box

  • foam backer rod

    hardware store

  • it called frb and u can get it at mostley eney hardware store

  • its called fbr foam backer rod

  • i make my stefans out of thumb tacks u should try it they shoot 4 feet farther then a normal stefan

  • how do we even know if they work you didnt even test them

  • Do stefan's hurt? I wanna check before i make them... thanks!

  • yes if fired out of a powerful gun yes they wilol might even leave a welt but these work the best with a modded night finder or a modded longshot or recon but its still works for any gun but it just works bette rwith the guns i just named to answer your question

  • can anyone tell me if stefans can be used for the recon if so tell me and how long i need to make them

  • make them like 2 inhes long and yes they work

  • thank you

  • Can you use airsoft bbs? Will they still perform better than stock nerf darts?

  • yes

  • what are the blanks made of???????

  • foam backer rod a.k.a Caulk saver

  • Hey CaptainSlug... can you use a washer or something else instead of 3/0 weights? If so, please tell me what I may use.

  • yes

    - #8 washer

    -bb's

  • if you use a washer use a number 8 washer and those arent called stefans if you use washers they are called ccdt's

  • No, CDTs are converted dart tag darts (or other stock darts) converted by replacing the stock tip with a weight. The type of weight used has no bearing on the name.

  • It's called a stefan if it isn't a stock nerf dart. And it's CDTS not ''ccdt's'' and CDTS' are Converted Dart Tag Stefans. Those aren't dart tag darts and are not converted. Therefore, it is still a stefan anyhow.

  • can the recon use stefans?

  • Yeah, just drill out the peg and air restrictor. 2-inch length stefans will work reliably in the magazine.

  • I did that but it still won't shoot!

  • I have the same problem i can never get my stefans to shoot as far as stock darts

  • It works beter with a PETG'ed barrel :)

  • do these darts fit well in petg

  • This is just my preferred method of adding weights. You can make these with any brand of foam.

  • hay dood were do you get that type of foam and what size do i need it in I also want to add that I love ur shotgun mod

  • dood, check the description.

  • is it juwst me or did anyone else sense a little bit of zelda in the music mix? lol

cool vid tho gotta try that

  • dont u need to put holes in the bottom? everytime i try it without holes with a recon it just flys out the top when i cock it forward

  • You're supposed to remove the peg from the inside of the blaster.

  • dose it have to be hot glue or can u use crazy glue

  • Only hot glue or liquid nails will work.

  • will ur darts shoot out of any gun? like a longshot, vulcan, etc?

  • Only if you remove the pegs

  • eh i dont think it does will it increase the life of ur darts

  • but y

  • Because getting shot with a steel washer hurts.

  • how can i get the foam thing

  • now where can i get this foam thing

  • i know stefans(homemade darts)can be shot out of a gun when the "peg" is removed but can they still be shot even though the gun has no pvc or cpvc

  • Stefans can be shot out of any gun with just The Peg removed and get around the same range as stock darts, but they can get much better ranges with a perfect barrel fit

  • i Have a question how are the darts supposed to slide into the barrel of the Nerf gun without having a hole going through the center of the dart?

  • By removing the peg from the barrel. But most people that bother to make their own darts also replace the stock barrel with a different size or material.

  • Omg.. i can't find the FBR at any of my hardware stores. They do not have the FBR stuff at ACE Hardware or The Home Depot. Any suggestions? where do you get yours?

  • I order it from industrial supply such as McMaster-Carr.

  • What size do you usually cut the FBR? Oh and also what kind of knife are you using, and what kind should I use ?

  • 1 to 2 inches. Any sharp box cutter or X-acto.

  • wait, do u want them to be sticky on both sides? If u do, i would use moleskin and glue the washer on, but then again moleskin might be too big...

  • No. The felt is there to cover the washer used as the weight.

  • thanks

  • lmao dartsmithing

  • What's the name of the song?

  • Electric Ladyland by Fantastic Plastic Machine

  • could you sell some i can't go get the supplies needed to make them just a question if you can i will prolly buy some

  • No. Buy the supplies online.

  • what size of washer and FBR do i need for the maverick?

  • same as in the link provided in the video description

  • i rather go out and by 100 then do this

  • except 100 regular darts suck... they dont fly as far as you want not only that but youd waste about 50-70 bucks for stock darts and homades only cost around 10 for like 500+

  • Do you have the mcmaster part number of the felt disks?

  • link in the description

  • your link dosent help with anything

  • Then you need to learn how to read. It includes everything in the video as well as what supplies were used. Most of the supplies were purchased from McMaster-Carr.

  • do i need to remove the air restrictor for these to work?

  • You will have to remove the peg, so you might as well remove the air restrictor too.

  • Nice vid! =) Just wondering, if I wanted to make streamline darts for the cs-6, what diameter of FBR would I need? Also, what diameter of washer would I need? thanks! =)

  • Link in the description tells you want supplies you will need. 1/2" diameter 2" length stefans will work fine in the Longshot provided that you remove the peg.

  • 1/2 fbr, and #8 washers

  • So what do you mean by uniformly textured are you like talking like solid no like bumps or just like straight.

Also does the FBR come in like different amounts like 12ft of it in a package or..?

  • After the darts have been straightened they should have the same surface sheen.

  • Hey is it okay if i use different size washers and felt disk as long as they are they same size as the foam??

  • You'll want the washers to have a slightly smaller diameter than the foam, and the felt washers should have the same diameter as the foam.

So this construction method should work for making larger darts as well.

  • oooh thanks but while i was waiting for your reply i made some myself and they actually flew very well!

  • what size washer's do you need?...

    and what is FBR...

what is the stuff you put the washers on?...

  • FBR: Foam Backer Rod

Felt dot: the stuff you put the washer on

  • did you have to mod the gun

  • yah u have to take out the air restrictor

  • where did you get the felt discs?

  • McMaster-Carr. Follow the tutorial link in the description.

  • Thank you.

  • Nice video its a really useful tutorial

  • um on nh u said to use liquid nails so y the hot glue here??

  • Hot glue is more durable. Either works fine though.

  • ok just wundering

  • and sorry for the bad grammer

  • what do you think of putting the blanks in a pillowcase and throwing them in the dryer on medium for 10 minutes, like forsaken angel does?

  • not so good dryer uses too much waats and can burn the pillowcase:D

  • What do I think? I think I don't need to bother because it takes only two minutes to straighten them with a hair dryer.

Unlike a tumble dryer, you can't over-cook them with a hair dryer.

  • do u have tomod ur nerf gun for it to be able to use stefans?? or can u use stocked guns to use stefans tell PLZ

  • You just have to remove the peg and air restrictors.

  • how do u remove the peg and air restrictor from a nitefinder?

  • For that one all you have to do is take it apart.

  • Awesome music cs and man I love all the nerf videos you have they always seem to amaze me

  • on my last comment i meant where in canada. sorry about that lol

  • sorry if this is a double post because im not sure if i actually posted my message a couple minutes ago...well i bought the 500 piece felt and 585 washers but my stefans r really bad. they barely go 10 feet in my new vulcan that i got. do u have any suggestions? i cut my fbr in 1 3/4". i buy the MD brand fbr at lowes.

  • right now im just making stefans with only the washer because the felt tips are too expensive to buy at my home depot. right now my stefans kinda suck. if i bought the felt tips would it make it fly farther?

  • The felt improves accuracy and helps to improve the seal between the dart and the inside of the barrel. I've never made stefans with only the washers so I don't know if they alter the average range or not.

You can buy rolls of 500 felt discs from Mcmaster-Carr.
