@Uncle99B I agree with you that this case could've proceeded to trial. Like we both said, if he wasn't who he is, it most likely would have. The burden for an indictment is only probable cause. That's a very low burden. The burden at trial is beyond a reasonable doubt. That's the burden that the prosecutors realized they had little to no chance of meeting. Proceeding would've been a waste of resources. Her statements make it clear that she wants money, so let her try for a civil remedy.
@navid500. There was a much better chance of winning this case for the DA than many others they do go to trial on. As I noted, DSK could not take the stand to give his version as he could then be questioned about the numerous other accusation he has faced. And his not taking the stand would meand he could not give his version of the event at all. Plus the DA could point out that he initially lied to police about nothing having taken place. This was a winnable case.

The only possible evidence of sexual assault is that the complainant had an injured shoulder. The only eyewitness is the complainant, whose credibility is dubious to put it lightly. He heard someone come in while he was in the bathroom, so he ran out of the bathroom naked and grabbed her vagina? She could've at least come up with a much less absurd account.

Had this gone to trial it was a slam dunk win for the DA. They had his sperm mixed with her saliva from the rug; they had pictures and a doctors exam of the injuries she suffered, they had the testimony of co-workers who saw her right after the assault, they had his initial lies to the police (and the press!) that there was no encounter which he changed after he found out tey had his DNA. If he took the stand, they could ask him all about prior accusations. Compare this with M Tyson

The doctor's exam noted "redness," which occurs after any consensual sexual encounter. She was the only eyewitness, and her credibility is questionable at best. That's a very low burden. The burden at trial is beyond a reasonable doubt. That's the burden that the prosecutors realized they had little to no chance of meeting. Proceeding would've been a waste of resources. Her statements make it clear that she wants money, so let her try for a civil remedy.

As I noted, DSK could not take the stand to give his version as he could then be questioned about the numerous other accusation he has faced. And his not taking the stand would meand he could not give his version of the event at all. Plus the DA could point out that he initially lied to police about nothing having taken place. This was a winnable case.

The only possible evidence of sexual assault is that the complainant had an injured shoulder. The only eyewitness is the complainant, whose credibility is dubious to put it lightly. They put down what the patient tells them as the cause of the injuries. If you tell a doctor you broke your arm playing football, he will put down "football injury," even if you'd really been in a car wreck. You've made it clear you don't know anything about law, and you act like he has the burden of proving he's innocent.

They are putting down the cause given by the patient. You can try to twist my words all you want. The standard for prosecution is likelihood a crime took place and likelihood the defendant was involved. Once again, there is no X, Y, and Z formula for what evidence there has to be in a sexual assault case or any other case, in order for it to proceed to trial. 2. Dr's report said injuries due to assault.
3. DSK initially lied to police and said there was no encounter.

Go talk to someone who has been a prosecutor and ask them if they would consider this a strong case. If you personally would convict him based on what you've seen so far, there's no place for you in a jury. I read that horsesh*t that the prosecutors put out to fool people into thinking they were doing the right thing by dropping the case. It was nonsensical.
Face the facts. The DA's did this right following the assaut, locking things down tight as they knew this was a rich guy. Vance succumbed to Jewish pressure to drop it. Period
