@JustinDosntCare If you're playing more than one color in a deck, Terramorphic Expanse turns into both basic land types in your deck (or more if you're running 3+ basic land types). This gives you -consistency-, something competitive Magic players are always looking for to cast their spells and win, and casual players so they actually have the mana needed for their spells. A powerful and subtle card :)

@JustinDosntCare Also having a fetch land in a 60 card deck helps remove a card from your library thus helping your odds of drawing the cards you need to help you win during your draw steps.

@JustinDosntCare Fetch lands also can be used as 2 land plays with the LANDFALL ability of certain cards from the Zendikar block. Fetch lands are a must use in multi colored deck builds and decks that rely upon the landfall ability.

@creatorin12 toolkit is i think 30 U.S. Dollars. you can get one in your local hobby store that sells magic the gathering products... however, they dont release the toolkits for every expansion. You can probably find some on amazon.com too.

@BertramAllMighty7 i recently got a box of this and i can say NO you do not get the same exact cards as woltereck/erwin though you do get very similar cards they seem to be balanced between two random colors and the rest is just cards the only thing that i ended up getting the exact same thing is the 4 terramorphic expansions

I don't think someone who started playing a couple of days ago would (and should) worry about rotations, tournament types and fetch lands and other expensive chase rares. He needs to get a good number of cards, familiarize with the mechanics and mostly learn to work out on his own which cards are good and which are bad, and why.

As a matter of fact, if he manages to find a M10 box for a lower price after the rotation I think he could think about getting it.

I'd say go for this one. Buying a box gives you more rares, and from a monetary point of view I'd guess is more worth your bucks, but with this you have a very nice basis for your decks, and also you don't focus on mechanics of one specific set. Plus, you get lots of lands, and you're going to need them badly :) In a box you get just one land for booster, so around 30 total, and random.

@Ulkarus I agree with Giby86, this is definitely better for someone who's just started. The toolkit also only costs $20 so it's a much smaller investment.

And I really, really recommend against buying a box of RoE to get your collection started. Zendikar, Worldwake or M11 are all wiser choices.
