Ppl can <3 the artist they want, but let's @ least show respect 2 a woman who has IMMENSE musical & writing talent & business sense w/her own label. Not too mention her ability to use music as a political soapbox. Alanis is good, but Glen Ballard created her first album helping her write most of her material. They exist at 2 completely different levels. I <3 the Monkees & Led Zeppelin, but I know better than 2 compare apples & oranges. Ppl need a little music history 101 to get some perspective

@Asisya18 Glen Ballard didn't create her first album he produced it and co-wrote some of the MUSIC only- not the lyrics at all. I think we remeber JLP for the lyrics.

I am a HUGE fan of BOTH ANI and ALANIS they are both EXTREMELY TALENTED. They both have wonderful qualities to their voices and what they play. My fave instrument for Alanis is when she plays the harmonica and ani is super amazing at guitar. they both use their voices in amazingly unique ways. Why does everybody have to believe what they like is better or 1 up from what others like?? I <3 ANI and I <3 ALANIS.

Why don't you do a little bit of music research before making silly comments? @Asisya18 Alanis first album came out in 1989-as did Ani's. The thing was though Ani is older and when her music started she had control of it-to whereas Alanis had pushy child abusing parents that forced her into the industry (which she later writes about and discusses in interview.) at a young age. When alanis became an adult she left her label- wrote an album which made her known as she is today. You do the research.
