His description of the types of bikes LOL he talked about 3 and its the 3 that everyone knows about... what about cyclocross bikes might be interesting to knoww about those lol
@willzrocks it depends on where you live and if you want to have it prebuilt than you have to go to a cycle shop. If you don't mind building it your self than i believe bicycle ware house carries specialized bikes. hope this helps
My brother has a" Specialized P. all mountain disc". Its pretty good for off road jumping and shouldn't be to hard to use. It also depends on how much your willing to drop on a new bike.
good and inexpensive are two words that do not mix with bikes. either you get a cheap one which will fall apart very quickly or pay a fair amount for something that will do the job right.
but I'd recommend going on ebay and just having a browse round.
Hybrids not great at any one thing!? with a few choice extras they make great commuter/utility riders, check out my channel to see;(blatent plug)LOL :-)
HOLY SHIT!!!!! there are different types of bikes!!! far out! thats a shock!!!!, i always thought everyone rode the same bike.... hmm makes me think this is made for brain dead people... cough HICK cough cough,

this video didn't really give me anything i didn't already know about bikes.
and for the people who don't actually know much about bikes either i am sure they would understand what a fucking hybrid is & what a ''Mountain bike'' is used for or where you would use a ''road bike'' this video is rubbish lol
ridgeback storm 08 4 sale west london. fast and smooth with hyraulic disc breaks only£190 excellente condition. receipt & manuals included. this is a £500 hybrid bicycle. drop me a line its a absolute gem!!
dude- chill not everyone knows this stuff- like not everyone knows about computers & linuxes but u can learn it slowly. i didnt exactly know all about specialized road bikes, hybrids, & suspensions till few weeks ago but now i know some. no one knows everything so just chill a bit
Um about a 4 out of 5 i would have gone with a specialized rockhopper or hardrock but its the brand loyalty thing, i've always ridden a specialized. When it really matters is when you get up to high end. 99.99% of bikes like the avalanche are the same. They all have a shimano 7 or 8 speed gearing, roughly the same frame with a different name, and a low end fork. Fun and affordable! You're next step would probably be a Specialized Rockhopper or GT Avalanche 1 or Trek 6500
They design frames that have shocks on them. their full suspension frames and bikes suck ass. especially their cross country models like the dawg. I don't really like kona or specialized, even though at the bike shop I worked at, we primarily sold kona bikes. I currently own a surly 1x1, and it was my first mountain bike. honestly, I think suspension and gears are bullshit, but that is my opinion and not necessarily yours. and I am fine with that. I am too lazy to capitalize these sentences btw.
I know five people that ride the dawg and the dawg supreme as a cross-country bike. Full suspension bikes climb like shit, and the kona duelies somehow managed to pedal like shit on level ground. GT and Intense's I-Drive suspension design allows the bike to be pedaled up hill very efficiently, even compared to hardtails. Like I said before, I hate gears and shocks with a passion, because I feel that unless you are doing 6 foot drops(I can only do 5 on my surly)You don't need gears or suspension.
HOW TO BUY A BICYCLE: pick one out. try it. if you like it, you take it up to the cashier and you purchase it with paper or plastic. hahahahahaha. the best bike store is ERIK's Bike Shop. oh my god- i didnt know that there were different types if bikes!!!!!
if i use my mountain bike to ride say 20 minutes to and back from work but on weekends do some off road riding, should i get a mountain bike or a hybrid. Are mountain bikes really that bad on pavement? I mean how much slower can they be than say a street bike or a hybrid
I have a mountain bike that I use for both. The tires sing louder then the street bikes, thats it. Just max your air pressure in your tires if only doing street. I see peeps do it all the time
Perfect video. Just what I was looking for since I have no clue how to buy a bike. The only thing that maybe could have been mentioned was how to choose the right size of bike. Otherwise, great video!
I just bought a Mongoose Domain and only 6 days old and the front gears are broke and the back brakes broke. And since I road it already the store won't take it back. Now what do I do?
what u do is um buy a bike that doesnt suck and yea and for all the people that need help buying bikes just go to the store and they will tell u wat u need and do some reaserch on the google about different bikes. also watch pro bike videos and watch for names of bikes that people ride in mountains, skate parks, racing and all that
> I just bought a Mongoose Domain and only 6 days old and the front
> gears are broke and the back brakes broke. And since I road it already
> the store won't take it back. Now what do I do?
You learn not to buy anything that is sold at Walmart.
Cannondale was recently bought by Pacific Cycle, which owns Mongoose. I ride a 1998 Cannondale road bike and that's the last Cannondale I will own. Pacific takes good names, and ruins them.
start complaining. go back to the store and tell them its unacceptable. Don't get too worked up, get the logic of your argument straight and complain more to anyone who'll listen.
the bikes wal mart and kmart sell are junky. btw, walmart used to have giant signs on the front of their stores that read, "satisfaction guaranteed" but i see it less and less with their remodeled and new stores.
Hybrid Bikes are great and all.... just, if you're serious about mountain biking, and put alot of abuse into your bike... then don't hesitate... my whole front end, including the handle bars are demolished :(

Get a mountain bike for fun, and a cheap fixed speed road bike for commuting. Fixed speed will improve your spin a lot.

Mountain bikes are agonizingly slow on pavement. Slow period really.
