respect Pete's game and his legend, but there is no way he make the list in front of folks like Bill Russel, Wilt Chamberland and Kareem... you just cant do it
My favorite player is Pete Maravich. I've read biographies, seen highlights, etc. I love him, but I don't think he should be mentioned so highly. He lacked defense. But he was the Original Showtime. Some players that should have been mentioned: Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Wilt Chamberlain, Bill Russell, Charles Barkley, Rick Barry, Patrick Ewing, Walt Frazier, Willis Reed, Clyde Drexler, Elgin Baylor, George Gervin, Karl Malone, Moses Malone, Earl Monroe, and MANY more.
the only reason that could be said is because he didnt win a chip. the answer to that is his teams sucked and magic and bird has a good supporting cast
All of the men that you mentioned learned from Pete, and none of them would have become as good as they did if it wasn't for him. In a team game, you can't use championships as a yardstick for how good a particular individual played. After all, plenty of bench warmers have championships, while many all-time greats don't. Furthermore, the Pistol invented "Showtime."
@bassman5123 Disagree here. Pete was god without a doubt. but many great passer before him not all of them learned that from him. Many were street ball players that learned the game on the streets. Pete's game is nothing new. That style of play was done with the Globe Trotters and on the streets during Trotters early years way before Pete was a player.

I like it that your MJ clips showed what a great all-around player he was, with his incredible defense and topnotch passing.
The Erving clips also included some very rare ABA footage. And Magic, Bird and Pistol Pete of course terrific. Kudos for this clip.
