  • •If a man sells his daughter as a servant, she is not to go free as menservants do. If she does not please the master who has selected her for himself, he must let her be redeemed. He has no right to sell her to foreigners, because he has broken faith with her. If he selects her for his son, he must grant her the rights of a daughter. If he marries another woman, he must not deprive the first one of her food, clothing and marital rights. [Exodus 21:7-10]

  • @exodus21v20 Notice the very key word used over and over again -- "if"

God is regulating a man-made practice -- always dealing with a man-made problem -- sin. And even in such, He does so with future redemption in mind. All these practices are done away with in the life and death of Messiah Yeshua -- Jesus Christ.

If you want to see what God's original intention was, you must return to Eden...not Leviticus.

  • @mtcanz

The word "if" implies your fictitious god accepts the practice of selling your daughter as a sex partner for your own profit. I think your fictitious god would have been better off saying, "you shall not sell your daughter as a servant and women must have the same freedoms as men do. You have such low expectations of a god. This law is far from perfect and it reflects on the imperfection of the lawmaker which was invented by a bronze age society.

  • @exodus21v20 Again, your indignation calls for some standard of right & wrong, yet for you there is none. You desperately want the teeth of objectivity in your argument, yet your own world view robs you of it before you start.

God could do away with every single evil act at any moment - phoosh. Gone. And you and I and everyone who was to live after? gone too -- no hope for eternity. Yes, God allows evil to exist, in part as mercy to those who will believe.

  • @exodus21v20 One more thing; this video is not some argument for the existence of God (the most obvious of realities). I've entertained your vitriol, but will not do so indefinitely. If you really desire to discuss this with me, feel free to PM. I won't let the discussion sink to ripping individual passages (albeit hard ones) from any context whatsoever. It's lazy as well as inconsistent to your own worldview.
