Hey guys, intresting comment about our drum majors. We had a lot of props last year like our columns we would tip over and throw red and orange ribbons to make it look like a volcano erupting, but the judges said it was over-done. So this year we lowered it down to only a tarp that we didn't interact with like our columns last year. Props don't get your very much points. Actuly marching and playing well does. Also, I have no idea who the judges are and I'm pretty sure they didn't go to Loveland.
You know, i personally think this whole thing is getting a bit too personal. Air Academy is not about winning, we're about giving the performance of our lives and showing the crowd what we worked for. And i'm sure it's the same way for loveland. And it's been way too long for us to still be debating whose show was the best...
3) Loveland's performance was far from terrible or stupid based upon the judges criteria. They were looking for complexity, intricacy, depth, intrigue, and evocation of emotions both visually and musically.
Their theme was PathOs: musically and visually they conveyed the physical path, the mental path, the emotional path and the spiritual path.(Not a 'red carpet')
It's kind of like comparing a pop artist band to a progressive rock artist band...
2) Also, at the CBA website you can obtain , read and study the Marching Rulebook. As well as study the Judges Adjudication Sheets under Director's Resources to gain a better understanding of how Music, Music Ensemble, Music GE, Music Individual, Visual, Visual Ensemble, Visual GE, and Visual Individual are judged.
I heard the Judges were Loveland judges. I know the judges were from across the states but I was told they used to go to Loveland. Who knows, could just be a bunch of blah. And I thought Loveland was terrible.
I don't believe the judges were from Loveland and they had never seen our show before so the chances are that the scores they gave us weren't biased. Well, I'm sorry you thought we were terrible. We worked really hard and I'm certain Air Academy did too. Good job guys! ^-^
I definitely thought Air Academy should've gotten first, and why was their finals score lower than their semi-finals score? :( They did so much better in finals
Legacy was a 5A school I thought. Theirs was good though. I hate how there are so many props anymore. It's become a de facto requirement to be considered for winning. I HATED Loveland's red carpet thing.
Leagacy is a 5A school. But i was talking bout overall scores. And yes the props can get really annoying and stupid. And i'm glad i'm not the only one who didn't like their red tarp/carpet thingy, i just thout that was stupid. But they did have hot drum majors.
I was just referring to the number of props there were. At least 80% of the bands had props. I'm complaining about the trend more than anything. Call me a purist.
i didn't like having state outside =/

How the hell? This show has 10x better music, sets, and a great story for the show. And they got 2nd... lol should be:
