  • my mate has it. hes 58 and hes going in for surgery to get the larger ones on his chest removed. i know what ur goin thru mate. hang in there

  • I am 53 year old male., I have been suffering and Dercums has progressed steadily since the onset around my 20's while in Boot Camp in the Military. I have been thru it all, I just got my Disability, However it is not full disability and had Nothing to do with Dercums albeit my doctors are now familiar with the name and seem to be at least Curious, I hope to one day get that diagnosis. But at least it is no longer a mystery..

  • My lumps always seem to be associated with a constant tingle like, worm like feeling on the body ( paresthesia ) did you ever feel this? thanks so much for the vid.

How is the prognosis for you? does it shorten life expectancy!!!

  • I am not obese. I'M still quite young, in my 20's. I feel it's not Dercums but yet that makes most sense, as the lumps are prominent and give me the most pain, ie, they hurt me a lot.

  • I am really confused! I have lumps under my skin for the last 4 years, it was after a so - called viral infection. The pain can get quite severe on both sides of my breasts (I AM MALE) , but they are everywhere. I don't think I have Dercum's but i am not sure. I suffer with a lot of Paresthesia which I feel is associated to the lumps. My lumps are quite obvious to feel but non visible, some are quite rubbery in texture, especially around the groin. I have ms like symptoms but with these lumps.

  • Just for the record, chronic means 'long standing' NOT 'severe'. It comes from the Greek word chronos meaning time.

  • i have a friend who has Dercum's Disease

  • Jason..Thanks so much for this effort. I also have DD and I know how important it is to get the word out about this terrible disease. You did a great job!!! We are all working hard to try and get help and to get some support from the health care community and the public. Hugs, Grandma Sylvia

  • DD in 5 minutes, you did a pretty good job Jason. Thank you. It is up to those who suffer from DD to support, educate and attempt to make others aware of DD. I believe that there is an opposite for all things, the uncureable has a cure, the unknown has an explanation. We can find what causes this, we can get better, if not completely within our time, for others. Best of blessings from a DD sister.
