@BigMcLargeHuuge: Make sure you differentiate the goof-ball styles from WKF styles. Wado, Shotokan, Shito-Ryu and Goju are the WKF styles and none of them have "crazy dance number katas".

im not japanese but if you watch closely.. japanese does better.. it's not really a bias.. they have more "kime" ... they practice intensively.. that's why you need to go to japan and practice with these karatekas.. oss!
The boo's are usually because of the obviously biased judging in favor of the Japanese competitors. It's happened too often, as a spectator how else can you voice displeasure?
i think that this video is awesome i was a competitor in this tournament and i think all have done well... would you boo the oposition if your team was losing??? thats something to think about... The Haka by New Zealand was awesome as well....
i attended this tournament to watch. kata was great (not wkf standard but still great) Kumite was utter rubbish. i have never heard a crowd boo at a martial arts tournament so often.
its funny that they call this the funakoshi cup even though gichin was greatly against karate as a sport and kumite fights.

WKF is leading the way into the contribution of lost KARATE-DO.
Their Tae Kwon Do esqu GI's and style of fighting. Their point system is just a mess (in comparison to what is traditional).
You are absolutley correct. WKF is a sport. It will never be an art-Karate-Do!
