  • Why do the police always do this at major protests? I knew from the start that they'd eventually cordon off all the exits so I kept a close eye throughout the day via live feeds.

    Many of the news channels reported that the police only started doing this after the RBS windows were smashed but according to BBC's Ben Brown (who was actually there) it was the police restricting people's movement that caused some individuals to get irritated and start being violent!
