  • Is it just me or does his Strat look huge on him at 0:54?

  • @ttownconor it's you :)

but damn, this guy can play!

  • Does anyone know what kind of gum he's chewing?

  • other then john mayer do any artists today appreciate the blues, i mean c'mon this is real ass music....i miss SRV

  • love this one, thanks

  • Undoubtedly, SRV will continue to be the one whom anyone who appreciates music to a depth that sets no limits to our emotions, will be the one that will be missed the most. A legend, master, teacher, inspiration....blows me away every time. RIP, SRV.

  • @550tommy1 Well put brother!

  • there's a lot goin on under that hat that we could never fathom.

  • That's right!!! Tell that fool how it be, Stevie!

  • fucking awesome...

  • I whould dislike it, just because noone did, but... Ican't, its too awesome...

  • too many guitar players over think every phrase or every lick. I went through a period where my ability regressed because of a shitty teacher who was obsessed with technique....The best blues comes from the gut.

  • omg..the faces, the gum chewing, the clothes, the hair, the sweat, the voice, the hands that coax magic from a guitar...what a heart breaking loss in so many ways. Thanks for all you gave us SRV & Double Trouble! Can't forget Tommy, Chris, Reese thanks to you all! and to workmanrob for this video.

  • amazing! beautiful! mind blowingly Stevie Ray Vaughan!

  • Meilleur guitariste de tous les temps

  • Not one dislike.... nothing to dislike! Amazing!

  • Srv will remain a blues legend 4ever.His music will never die.

  • This is an amazing video.... On SOOOOOOOO many levels! Thanks so much for putting it up, Workman!!! I'd hug ya if I could!

  • 21 years ago today he last played this. Was he chewing nicorette this night? Clean and sober for sure.

  • Damn, this is a great effin video of SRV live! It's been 21 years and still my heart aches over his death!

  • fucking helicopters :( if he drove we would still get to enjoy his music today. Let this be a lesson to you kiddles, never board a helicopter

  • OMG I LOVE this....Is there more from this performance?

  • you better leave his girl alone.

  • pure gold

  • I love how he switched to Done Lost Your Good Thing Now, doing all those B.B. King licks

  • He was really speaking through his guitar on this particular night... Just flawless. Very musical playing.

  • Love it. Do you think he could play with a straight face? :)

  • its tough to see what hes doing through the tears. thanks a million for the up.

  • this is one of the most powerful versions ive heard him do of this song I want a shot of jack n maybe raise a little hell lol... great post thanks

  • I LOVE THAT VEST!

Stevie sure had a nice clothing style, and those hats! my god, they were BAD ASS!

  • Stevie was a bad ass.

  • So unbelievably clear & melodic!

  • Some of the most incredible guitar playing I've ever seen.

    Thank you for posting this.

  • By far the best version I've seen, There are many talented guitar players around, but SRV was in a class all by himself. They'll never be anyone that can touch him IMO.

  • @morrowgirls Man, there's been cats who have tried and tried to be Stevie, but they couldn't. And, no matter how long time goes on, there never will be another. The best of all-time!

  • @morrowgirls Couldn't agree with you more..Living here in Texas, I probably saw Stevie 5 or 6 times live and this is the best version of this song I've ever seen. He put so much of his soul into his playing. A class all by himself...indeed.

  • Looking for the "love" button :)

  • I think i see Flames coming from that guitar when he plays!!!

  • 0.26 to 0.34 is why Stevie stands out among all the others...no wonder he was the BEST..actually still is the best

  • I love this version!! Its way better than the Live From Austin,TX one! I love how you can tell he's just playing around with the major/minor scale!! It's just so different,,,fucking STEVIE!!!!!

  • I heard b.b. King licks

  • This is F-ing awesome!! Stevie is copying some of Jimmie Vaughan's licks. It's rare to see him do that but I love it!

  • He is at his best here and in this concert in general. He looks so healthy and on top of his game.He may have shared many influences and cut many remakes of songs but his cuts were one of a kind and the man himself was too.I know that I will never see another like him in my time.I wish future generations will somehow experience just how great this man was.Why debate the Hendrix,or Vaughan there is no winner except us the ones who get to listen and enjoy.Thank you Stevie for a lifetime of music

  • @donreaperman77 Dude sooo true! Im sick of the whole Hendrix/SRV debate! Just shut the fuck up and let the guitars speak for Gaadsakes!! Hendrix is only like a quarter of what's in Stevie's bag right? Rave on Jimi and Stevie!!!!

  • You know, Stevie Ray Vaughan is my all time guitar idol, and im 15, i stopped playing guitar 4 months ago for some reason and i want to get back, ive been playing for 2 1/2 years, but when i watch Stevie play i want to get back to it, but then i always think to myself, ill never be that good! Rest in Peace Stevie!

  • @RaphaBert Hey bro Keep Trying! im 21 and been listening to Stevie since i was 3! ive been playing for 13 years now. You can do it! even Stevie would tell you that if ya keep playin it with your Heart and Soul...it comes that much easier. Stevie Is My Idol and Hero as a guitarist...he has also influenced my to be a better Person. Keep at It Man!!

  • @RaphaBert Dude Im 40 and I just started playing again after 8yrs lost to alcohol. I played pro for 15yrs and lost it to booze. I spent 7-8 yrs drinking but in that time I never stopped listening to Stevie,Jimi,Eric,The 3 Kings,Slash and a bunch of others. It never left me. Been sober for 2yrs and been playing since that 1st sober day and I am illuminated! I'm playing better now than I was at 23 and in a pro band! The point is that sometimes you just gotta cleanse yourself bro. Keep playing!!!!

  • almost otherworldly...I seen his last concert...*thank you lord*

  • I love the gauge of his strings... I have seen lighter on fences.

  • @087722 Great way of putting it. There's many a great player out there who couldn't even attempt to bend those strings, let alone do what Stevie did with them.

  • wish i was his little girl lol love u and miss u stevie ray

  • Thank you Stevie, thank you...........

  • gods are immortal

  • awesome!

  • Lord before I get evil man.And i do somethin wrong!!!!!

  • Check out maaa band :)

  • NOW PEOPLE SEE WHY THIS MAN IS MY IDOL!

  • beautiful..fuc...beautiful..licks sound very similar to the great bbking.....want a great cd? get bbking`s "alive and well" it smokes!!..

  • tHE MAN HAD SUCH TALENT- AND TO THIS DAY IS SO VERY MUCH MISSED

  • You can't teach someone to play like that, you either got it or you ain't! Stevie has it in bucket loads.

  • i like the stuff he did for Bowie!

  • I love hiss boooody <3

  • Fast, Clean, Tons of soul...what else do you expect..its Stevie lol. Love you Brother. cant wait to rip it up at the Pearly Gates with you!!

  • damn.....stevie you was mad

  • I love how he just changes gears and starts playin Done Lost Your Good Thing Now. Wish there was a full vid on here somewhere of him playin it.

  • Stevie plays the best sounding BB King style licks Ive ever heard! I'm not a big BB King fan but the way SRV plays his licks sounds sooo good.

  • epic. thats god.

  • It was such a waste to loose such greatness...I never met Stevie, I know it's strange but, I miss him every time I hear one of his releases. Thank you for sharing the video Rob.

  • never met the man. i was 4 when he passed. never had a big brother, but i love him like he is

  • Pretty sure you meant "he's" and i'm also sure Dimebag sure as fuck isn't jamming with Stevie. Dimebag couldn't hold 1/1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000th of the talent Stevie had.

  • One of these days you'll grow up. Dime wasn't worth a nickel.

  • Dude i didint sayed that Srv is not Good or have no skills .... I fkin love Srv sooo shut the fk Up and Dime is god!

  • damn man let it go...haven't you been voted down enough? We get it, you like Dime, no one else here cares.

  • and your not shame for your pitiful life.

  • lol ?

  • wrong

  • they should turn these videos into a dvd

    i'd by it

  • No, not a coin. He's using the round edge of a normal medium size guitar pick. This is such an amazing heartfelt performance of SRV and Double Trouble. U can hear all his influences in his playing here, and you can hear how all of these influences made his own unique and influentual style. Amazing!

  • is he using a coin as a pick?

  • he holds his pick backwards so it looks he's using the round side

  • @joshscus ~ I read an interview where he said he uses very heavy gauge strings on his guitars for the "Full Gut Tone" they give, so that would explain using the backside of a heavy pick to Thwuck out those Bold notes & chords !.

  • i watched this and walking the tightrope....my heard seriously almost exploded from the caliber of awesome they contain

  • PERFECT!

  • isten

  • my Favorite srv song

  • SRV is all i got to say

  • maestro!!

su guitarra habla por si sola....

  • legnagyobb!!!

  • excelente!

  • uno de los blues mejor logrados de este virtuoso de la guitarra. toca y canta con el mismo sentimiento que los viejos bluseros del mississipi.

  • PURE MAGIC & TALENT!!!

  • Can't believe he's gone. This man just had the flow, he was so smooth. Truly, you can't learn to play like this, you're just born with it.

  • How did you get this video, is it a DVD or just some unreleased stuff u got ahold of

  • unreleased as far as i know.....

  • @workmanrob but how did you get it? i'm not asking for the source. just found it in an empty field? somebody dropped it off? you filmed it?

tell me to fuck off or not, it don't matter cuz I got stevie on my screen!

  • @ontariobuds ...the show was projected on screens on both sides of the stage...a vhs tape was recording the output to the screens...this is a copy of that tape....

  • @workmanrob UNREAL......SRV is and always will be the GREATEST to ever live. Helluva video right here. His emotion is so strong in this. Amazing how much better he played once he cleaned up. He was at a great point in his life then tragedy struck. It always happens to the GREAT ones.

  • i love the emotion this songs brings out of you. i want go kick the dude's ass that wont leave stevie's little girl alone.

  • @jwmac9 hahah..

  • @jwmac9 that's what a good blues tune does, brings out emotion in you, and when i sing and play my harp, i let my emotions out and pour my heart into any song i do, and that's the secret to being a good singer or musician, let it come from your heart, not your mind!!!!

  • this could never be loud enough

  • i totally agree

  • @brandomitcho YOU KNOW IT MAN!!! :)

  • moron he didint sold to the evil any soul,,, in fact good allow to play good

  • stevie ray vaughan é td de bom ! o puro creme do blues!!

  • I love how SRV would pay tribute to his influences through cover tunes. In this Buddy Guy tune for example--not only does his guitar style display Guy's influence--but B.B. King and Guitar Slim's as well. Appropriately enough Slim and King were both highly influential on Guy himself.

  • Yeah, perfectly. And here there's even more BB King influence. SRV plays the base blues accessory with flawless improvisative and emotive power. That is immense achievement, I mean the fact i consider this "blues etalon" is because of the perfect quality he puts the blues standards in. The "traditional blues" feel, is mainly his effect.

  • Wow, this is right up there with the '89 ACL performance. Great stuff here. Love the changes.

  • A lot of practice, sweat and blood, hard knocks, and love, all coming out of a heart of gold that was God given. Thankyou!

  • this man gave part of his soul away withit every performance he did!!!! god i miss him and his music...

  • Gave his soul...this solo here...he sold his soul to the devil!!! This has got to be the sickest solo I have ever heard...and the thing is....he would never play the same song the same way once, let alone twice!!! SRV is a true GUITAR GOD!!

  • God I love him. He makes me melt. Thanks for posting!!!

  • By far the best blues guitar player of all time.

  • I've been a fan since 82 or so and LOVE when 'new' stuff like this shows up.. This is another great example of how Stevie never played the same solo twice.. same general song, but different every time. Wonder if there'll ever be anyone like him again... probably not~

  • BB King style, very cool :)

  • put the all the soul of 20 top guitarists and that's 1/2 of the soul Stevie had!

  • great new footage, what is this from?

  • Absolutly awesome as always - and of lot of chewing gum :)

  • The way he explodes off that bend at 6:30, oh my days...

  • Beautiful bend at 5:59-6:00! A blues Mozart.

  • this guy is the best guitar player in the world i dont care about clapton or hendrix stevie ray is and will always be the best

  • All I can say is "show me the way to Amarillo!"

  • I just noticed I wrote an other comment here months ago, but I just can't say enough how much I love and miss Stevie.

  • I trust you Tommy! I am a big and a hardcore fan of SRV like you, and I love his music a lot and I miss him a lot! R.I.P Stevie!

  • Oh my God... I think it's the best version of this song. He's so natural and full of soul. That's why I feel what kind of person he was. There's no one like him and never will be. Stevie, we really miss your love, kidness and music from this World.

  • One of my favorite SR tunes - thanks!

  • You mean buddy guy tunes

  • amazing video.. best guitar player to walk the earth

great slow blues intro i love it!

  • Fine example of what Buddy Guy was talking about, right after SRV died, when he said "he played the blues the way I think it should be played, with all your heart, body and soul"

  • Stevie's smokin' in this slow blues tune.Amazing.

  • Love SRV. Thanks for the posting. Irie!
