  • These lyrics are very different from those of others' renderings of this song on YouTube. Are these more traditional?

  • @paulhbrown Like many traditional songs, there are various different lyrics and various different melodies. This particular version I got from a singer in Dundalk, Ireland, called Sean Corcoran. I don't think it's any more or less traditional than the other versions!
