  • good job but where is the main solo?

  • How long have you been playing guitar? You are really good! I saw your Little Wing runs too and those were splendid.

  • EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT !!!!! VERY GOOD JOB!!

  • thats awesome man, what is your pickup ? cs69 ?

  • @darkvadortonpere Thanks! The pickups are standard, the guitar is an '89 MIJ!

  • Very nice indeed. Im wearing Hendrix pajamas right now!!!:D About a year ago I bought a Fender American special HSS, but I like the SSS better I think.

  • What's Your gear amp? Sounds vintage :)

  • @TonyGognitti Well, apart from the strat it's actually a V-amp2. Don't really like Behringer but the V-amp2 sounds quite good on some settings.

  • i like it, i know a lot of people say you should make a song your own and all that but you stuck very close to the recording and pulled it off admirably, which is also a skill. sweet.

  • @MrSloppyman Thanks! In my other songs where I do my own interpretations people go on about it not being close enough to the original. Just goes to say, you can't please everyone! :)

  • yeeeeeah

  • How did you figure out these solo's, by ear?

  • @CaptainP00face I did. When you know a lot of tricks more advanced in guitar, you can assume he is using bars and pulls. It's just that Jimi plays really fast, so you might want to hum his work to yourself slowly, or use a program to slow it down. I needed to for the part at 0:29

  • @Nemesis0300 I use tabs for the general structure, but it's important to be able to alter parts to fit your own playing style.

  • @martinberra Yeah, I agree 100%. I noticed that you pull a string in the part I mentioned at 0:29 instead of hitting the fret -- very sexy customization. Pending on what mood I'm in, I do that too.

But, I learned it from you, so thank you.

  • @Nemesis0300 Being natural and comfortable is more important than being 100% accurate. Some people really struggle with fingering and picking patterns when they really should focus on playing it in their own way.

Couldn't find it in your videos, but I'm sure you do a great job playing it. :)

  • @martinberra Thanks man. Subbed :)

  • @Nemesis0300 Cool! Haven't uploaded any vids for some time, but there are a couple coming this fall/winter. :)

  • really nicely done!!!! do you have a tab of the fourth solo???

  • looks like it's mimed..

  • I gotta tell ya, I really like the way you approach this, your lead is laid back in the mix to fit the feel of this particular backing track-- hey, that fourth solo is a killer. I have a post of it, but its only ok-- I am going to redo the whole song if I can find a good track-- thanks -- by the way, I notice you didn't tune down, is that because of your floyd rose? ???I

  • @Flatted357 Thanks! I am checking your video out as we speak (or write, rather!). I didn't record the last solo since my wah-wah was broken. Perhaps I'll record it some day.

I can't really recall the reason for not tuning down, but I believe it had something to do with the backing track being in normal tuning. I normally keep this guitar in E since the Floyd isn't very fond of detuning. :)

  • @martinberra on the floyd, I have an X50, I kid you not, when you try to tune down, the springs in the back pull it back up to right where you were over and over again. I didn't know what the hell was going on; I thought the freaking Ghost of Hendrix was messing with me.

  • Comment removed

  • From whence cameth this backing track? (KJV)

  • @Flatted357 I believe it came either from guitarbt com or I found it in an old Guitar Techniques. Unfortunately I don't have the track anymore so I can't send it to you!

  • is that the 50s style strat? I'm thinking about getting one. Good job, man

  • wow, is that a floyd rose on a strat? did'nt know that could be done.

  • HAHAHA! YEAH! That shit kicked ass! 5*

  • mustave been a pain in the ass ti get a floyd on that strat . but i have a question how much did it cost due de i really wana stick one on my strat once i getthe right funds.

  • That is very nice guitar your lucky yo have a MIJ, good tone and great variance. I love hearing others interpretation of songs!

  • what kind of guitar is that...looks like a strat

  • '89 strat MIJ!

  • Great)) I like your style, and its one of the most accurate i've heard!!!

  • Thanks! I practiced this one for quite some time, :)

  • AMAZING!!!

  • you shouldn't trust tabs you trust your ear . i bet its wat this guy did

  • You are correct!

  • wow that was good

  • that was amazing you have to make a lesson that would be cool

  • great job

  • were did you get the tabs for this!

  • Try 911 tabs they got some pretty good guitar pro tabs for the recorded verson of the song.

Don't know about the text tabs though

  • I believe I found the tabs in an old GT magazine, then I reworked it by ear. Just google it and you'll find it!

  • where did u get the tabs for this?

  • wow u are good i know those solos aswell they are quite hard at first but they are really easy now and im only 13

  • your great... i learned the first two solos... can u make a tutorial of the last one???

  • you know what's funny? Jimi busted his wah-wah on this same solo in his Isle of Wight show. hahaha great job dude

  • Cool, I didn't know about that! :)

  • good job. are u playing that in CMajor?

  • c# minor but tuned to down half step to C minor

  • finally I found a decent video for this magnificent cover! you play it very accurately and in the right tone , i really think you should make a full cover for it!

  • there's a part of the solo missing.

  • I am aware of that, my wah-wah was/is busted... :(

  • zsupnik, if he was green with purple dots THEN it would be weird.

  • thats pretty normal

  • lol is it cold in there or are you happy to see me

  • Well, Sweden is a cold country...

  • man,.. little wing and this was a good cover bro,... very very very good,. i wish i could play like this

  • Practise and have fun!

  • blow my cock that was good....right on!!!!!!!

  • wow right on!

  • yo man that was awsome :) keep rocking man

  • FUCKING ROCKED MAN, blew my fucking socks off!!!!!

  • Thanks a lot!

  • haha, anytime brother :)

  • TUTORIAL!!!!!!!!!!!

  • sounds like he's playing Patty Cake with glue.

    big fat 1.

next time trying putting a noose around your neck.

  • Come again?

  • that's what *she* said.

  • I wasn't suspecting such a clever remark from someone like you!

  • that was great very impressive!

  • how did you get that tone? its awsome

  • The strat is an '89 MIJ... as for amplification it's simply a Vamp plugged into my computer. If you tweak it around a bit it actually sounds decent:D

  • nice player, note for note, great respect for the music Jimi played about fourty years ago...keep on, dude!

  • nice m8 this is exactly how i play it bt obviousl nt as gd as u

  • fuck yeah, thats what im talking about

  • orite mate plz tell us where to find the tab ur using, or if u could tell us, thnks mate ;)

  • nice,

    really smooth

  • finly someone who is playing it right

  • realy nice done but i have a question : can u explain to me how to play 0:30 til 0:34

  • congratulation bro, u rock

    peace

  • Thanks, trying to do my best. :)

  • bravo ! .... mais dommage que tu ne la joues pas entièrement

  • Merci! Je suis desolée, mais je ne parle pas francais bien. :D

  • hey....how and where did u learn the solos :P

  • haha, love the phrase "wah wah related difficulties" in your description. btw, nice solo

  • nice guitar is that a strat with a Floyd rose tremolo? Sounds really good!!

  • Yes it is! The tremolo actually kills some of the tone, but it still sounds lovely :)

  • I know preety much nothing about guitar, just a fan of the music, but even i can tell that was excellent. Bloody good taste in music too buddy ;)

  • Thanks!

  • Hey whats your gear?

  • For this video it's a '89 Fender strat through a V-amp2 with a little bit of distortion. Nothing fancy.

  • great cover, great guitar

  • nice work man. i like the sweep at 25-26 seconds

  • Perfect. My eyes were popping out. I've been playing this song for almost 4 years, but it sounds a tiny bit different (just a tiny bit, not much).

  • Thanks, dude!

  • nice job, that phrase at 0:30 I stsill find hard to play at full speed and sound clean with picking every note.

As for fender vs gibson, well I find it hard to choose between my epi LP and my wifes fender strat MIM when trying thsi one out ;)

  • Yeah, that picking pattern is tricky! I had to practice it for several hours to be able to play it at full speed. Are the MIM strats good? Mine is MIJ and is equal to a MIA imo. I'm thinking of buying a MIM Telecaster..

  • Im not an expert, but I think the MIM fenders are pretty good on the whole, not quite up to MIA level but close.

The other bit I struggle with is the part right after the wah section, just cant get it to sound right yet ;) when I get a new PC I will upload my attempt and ask for pointers :p

  • hey bro nice guitar

  • Thanks! Gotta love Fender!

  • Fenders are good Gibson is better.

  • Nah, it's all a matter of taste and opinion. Ranking one over another is just stupid. Both are great in their own respect.

  • Will Ferrel?

  • ???

  • Nice man! Did you transcribe it or did u play it from tabs?

  • hehe you ALSO FORGOT THE WHAMMY BAR SOLO..

how does he do that in the live versions..

it is supposed to be a slide solo in the studio and live he does it with the whammy bar.. any other effects.?

  • the slide part can be done without a slide, the whammy solo ?? I guess you mean wah wah, which is done in the studio and live with a wah wah pedal like the dunlop crybaby.

  • ok just thought I would mention, that I got to borrow a MIJ strat for a few days recently, and it was awesome, partly it was set up better ( lower action ) but it just had some twang that my wifes doesn't. It copuld be as it was purchased from someone who used to gig with it so it may have had a few upgrades ?

but yeah the MIJ felt better than our MIM, I think a setup might close that gap.

  • 1962 fender strat? lol looks exactly like mine

  • Actually it's a 1989 strat with a Floyd Rose. Made in Japan, it's great!

  • what was the wah wah related difficulty?

  • Jimi would be proud..

  • your are very very very good, please play the whole song,

  • very good!

  • play the whole song then it would be good

  • you forgot the wah wah solo

  • Read the info, please

  • Hey listen to this version on youtube

  • nah, I dont't think so...:D

  • Not Bad Kid!!! Rock on and keep on Rocking!!! -Sir Brian

  • Well, thank you, sir...

  • check out lxdmuse, he also does a great version!

  • what kind of strat is that it has a nice sound to it not as good as a les paul but its good please let me know what model it is

  • u look weird when u play guitar X.x .. also at begin more hendrix style would be cool, at bending put a vibrato on it well gg dude :D

  • yo nice guitar

  • it doesnt have any different tuning, its just tuned down a half-step.

  • that's sick man, you got any tabs for that? or just the tuning?

  • its not any unusual tuning, its just tuned down a half-step.

  • Great work! Any chance you can post the Aqualung solo? I'm about half way through that one and can't quite get it down.

  • What a treat! Sweet clear tones with pace attack and a deft sympathy for the original track. Thank you for sharing it.

  • again man wonderful. i wont get sick of this

  • I've watched a LOT of people trying this on YouTube but yours so far sounds the best , great job , keep at it.

  • Well, I'm trying my best... :D

  • Well your tone was amazing, and all the notes were right, but you don't play anything like Hendrix XD

  • No-one does!

  • he played better than jimi

  • Nope, it's not even close!

  • very nice.try to post the other solo as well.

  • you are perfect! I wish I could.

  • This is fantastic :)

Seeing stuff like this makes me want to go out and buy a guitar and start learning.

  • you are a great guitarist, loved all your videos!!

  • great sound skilful playing man it's the coolest!!!

  • just wondered, how u gettin thoes unison bends with a floyd rose and still manage to keep it in tune?, other than that, brilliant :D

  • it does go a little bit out of tune, but i compensate that with bending the "unbent" string a little bit sharp... it takes a little bit of practice though!

  • ok, thanks for that, ive had that problem for a while now with my strat and could never think of a way round it, cheers :D

  • hey u look like napoleon dynamite.. =D ROCK ONNN

  • Man, that's just mean... I'll have to kick your ass with my nunchakas!
