See Below first-- you Embarrass your school by what you post. I have chosen to remove vulgar language comments from here and any "gay" comments. I have done this because it just is not right tho put someone down because they are dedicated to their school and tradition. This guy actually had a hot girl with him most the day. I was very impressed with the things they did to engage the crowd and to get people to stand behind their athletes. I only hope that one day my home crowd of 90,000
@mbikextrm, GOOD ON YA! Even YouTube is not immune to trolls; they twist ANY and EVERY topic to make it about themselves and their hatred for anyone "different."
I am not a fan of Texas A&M however I am a huge fan of colligate traditions and I think that Texas A&M has some of the best ones that can be found in our country. I was treated with great respect the day I ant to this game and was blown away not only by the 110 degree heat (yes Fresno State 4OT Game) but by the kindness shown to us by Adults and Students alike. I have been away from this post and have never read any of the comments posted until tonight. Those of you from other places.....
@DalonCole that was posted before they lost to the Tigers in their bowl game last year.learn to read. i think the Aggies will be ok in the SEC.its the toughest conference but if they recruit well and indications are its going that way they can play there and be respectable.
As an elementary school student at A&M Consolidated School,College Station,TX in the early 1960'S, We had a TAMU Yell leader come to school to engauge the students in various tack and field events. This guy(Yell leader) got me to do things I thought I could never do. As a former active duty Army officer I never forgot the guts that guy instilled in me to give the extra effort. Thanks TAMU! and welcome to the SEC!
@MrsGheydar So, since I doubt you read my other comments about the Senior Military Colleges....there are six Senior Military Colleges. These include Virginia Military Institute, Virginia Tech, Texas A&M, Norwich, The Citadel and North Georgia College & State University. I suggest your do your research on each of these institutions, as they all have a Corps similar to A&M's. Most similar is Virginia Tech, which hosts it's SMC as part of a larger non-contract university.
@MrsGheydar In addition, another big thing for SMC's is that all graduates are guaranteed a slot as an active duty officer should they select it. At other ROTC programs, the regional cadet command selects which cadets go active duty and which go reserves. You have no say in the matter. This is the main reason I went from University of Houston ROTC to Texas A&M.
@MrsGheydar I love how you immediately move to name calling, rather than supporting your view with facts. Every ROTC program in the nations IS NOT a Senior Military College. They are an ROTC program, and are NOT afforded the same privelages as a SMC. For example, at SMC's, in a time of mobilization, all seniors will be commissioned early and sent to their respective bases. All ROTC's that are not designated as a SMC, will be immediately disbanded.
@takasinger Interesting. What exactly is a "real military school"? If you mean a service academy, there are only four of those. Army, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard. If you mean Senior Military College, you speak of the Citadel, Virginia Tech, Virginia Military Institute, Norwich, North Georgia College and State University. These colleges and universities are afforded the same privileges as the service academies. Please do your research.
@dude853 i agree it is organized spirit/ tradition whatever you want to call it.
but u got guys standing there "whooping" and making all kind of gestures. Come on now, guys should be whooping, or making all those high pitched noises lmao
When is the last time you saw cheerleaders at a college football game actually leading the crowd at anything, or doing anything whatsoever besides retarded rap dances?
If you can't tell the difference, either you know nothing about Texas A&M, or you're just a gigantic moron.
its cuz it was started in the 1800s so there perception of wut was clean and appropriate is different than today lol. im an aggie and the tradition is actually pretty raw you just need the history behind it you know?
the aggie band is great there one of the best ive ever seen perform on hafl time of the football games no one leaves the stadium to go to get food places. u all stay and watch its classic how they do the things in the band. and its amazing...
zel u no nuthing about aggie land. if u went to a game if would be fun so u cant say anything bad about texas a&m other schools dont have these tradition like we do. so dont talk about them aggies?
First of all, while the Corp may = not yet military, the Corp =/= regular students. And we are indeed considered a military band. Actually, we're the largest military marching band in the nation.
I've never seen a high school band march in a military style, but I will continue to call our band a "military band," because the rest of the country knows what that means. Thank you for giving me permission to do so. And for the record, I'm not in the Aggie Band.
am i right or wrong? don't just say something and not back it up. hell, what am i saying, since what i say is fact you can't say anything but something random like "you're an idiot."
We do have girls you dumb fag, you ever watch a basketball game at TEXAS A&M. We used yelleader for football game and not gay cheerleaders like yall have
This is for "WRX2SURF" AND ANYONE ELSE that was mis-informed.... there has been 4 non corps yell leaders, Arouna "Boo Boo" Davies Jr., Class of 2002, Ronnie McDonald, Class of 1993, Ricky Wood, class of 2001(head yell leader btw), and Chris "Buck" Buckner Class of 2003
There has been non-corps yell leader. I forget his name, but he was a yell leader my fish year in the Corps (Sq. 3, and Air Force contract btw), and I used to see him on west campus all the time. I remember 'cause upperclassmen made a point to tell fish to treat him like any other yell leader. :)
I think you meant to reply to takasinger's comment, but I will second everything you said, and admit that I did not know there hasn't been a non-reg yell leader at A&M.
Like what? The only things we can control are how much support we give our teams, and how loud we get during games. And yell practice accommodates for both of those. If you have any suggestions on what else we can do to help our team win, I'd be glad to hear them.
look im not an aTm fan whatsoever but this isnt the song that theyre known for singing you need to look up them singing the aggie war hymn its in my favorites afew pages back.... HOOKEM
@KYBruinsFan Im A South Carolina Fan and while it is impressive to go to Neyland in a sold out crowd I hate that Rocky Top song. (maybe because we had heard it too much)
yep we do! this song is called the Spirit of Aggieland..we do this, yells and the Aggie War Hymn at every sporting event. well actually the yell leaders arent all all sports but we have yells for each sport.

I dont get why everyone says aggies are brain washed? Is it because they got more spirit than other schools or are at least more organized with it?
