Considering this movie came out in 1990 and had alot of the creatures getting electrocuted, I can't help thinking of Gremlins 2 which came out only a few months earlier before this movie's earliest release in Germany. The amount of time filming this couldn't have been long so I can't help wondering if there was some inspiration taken on how to kill them off on a much less impressive scale. I doubt it was intentional, but it does seem kind of similar.
