  • What NO Corn Ethanol you will Increase the World Price of Food and people in the Third World so that already subsistence people will not be able to afford the Seed Corn that they need to grow there next crop.... In effect you will make EVERYONE'S food More expensive including Pork and ANY industry that relies on Corn.

corn is not the way to go it is too Precise as a Food it will take Bushels of Corn to make 1 Gallon of Ethanol

  • @JustinJJHCS1 I live in a 3rd world country (South Africa, considered 3rd world) and we have had a mass production of corn this year which now affected pricing of food so badly that farmers have to ditch their fields and lose a shit load of money. If they completed the ethanol plants they planned back in 2003, any excess could have been used more effectively and they wouldn't be losing so much money because of exports etc

  • @AcidRaZor really....they could have given this corn to arias of Africa where it has not rained in 2 or more seasons in stead of throwing it out.

I refuse to believe you can not give it away. shows how greedy some people are.

Food we send there goes to wast hundreds of times a year or gets stolen so the UN has to Hire Mercenarys to protect Refugees and the Starving.

Like i Have said before lots of resources but no way to get at them

  • @JustinJJHCS1 I understand your point, and yes, greed comes to play in here a bit. It's the financial burden of the farmer (not the state or government or aid group) to ship any excess to these countries, so it's better for them to work any crops they don't use back into the ground for fertilizer. This is all because our government (not sure about yours) commercialized farming and stopped subsidies and regulation of food production (how much of what type etc) which blew up the export market

  • @AcidRaZor Yes almost the same thing happened in Canada but US Producers Like Calgrove took over the Canadian Market and they now refuse to deal with Small subsidized farms which is BS All Canadian farmers are Collectively Self Subsidized and the Federal government just matches that money to prevent Crashes that cause what you have. Some farmers cant sell there wheat because of Cal-grove/Monsanto not buying None Roundup Ready Wheat people are going green as a result causing stability.

  • @JustinJJHCS1 also you have to consider the amount of corn syrup produced is emense (for coke and other stuff)

  • @AcidRaZor my point is the Food is going here and US not staying in Africa where it is needed:-(

  • @JustinJJHCS1 Considering shipping costs etc, having these ethanol plants around would get rid of excess and still keep some money in the farmer's pocket to be able to survive when the shit hits the fan. I'm more of an advocate of biogas now, converting municipal sewage treatment plants into biogas generators we would have an abundance of electricity and the need for coal/nuclear power (as well as oil) would go down dramatically. Everyone poops ><

  • @AcidRaZor true that is what happens around Calgary Alberta. we have 4 Major Distillery's here "Canada Malting and another two Breweries in Edmonton also a Yeast Manufacturer Fleischmann's Yeast in Calgary that get Molasses from Beet growers in Alberta... It just dawned on me that we probably supply the Beer ,Table wine and Spirits for Western Canada and the US market.... also Commercial Additive Alcohol for most of Canada that explains the BIG plants.... and cheep Alcohol in alberta
