Nice to hear a version of this played at a playable tempo for the ensemble. Too often this is played at or above the original tempo played by Basie and ends up a mess because of the inexperience of the musicians. Kudos for playing the chart musically, for isn't that what it's all about anyway‽ I'm sure my friend Sammy would agree!
pretty good performance, just a little ensemble difficulties, but when is anything ever perfect in music, main thing I think is that there needs to be a bigger emphasis on the learning curve to improvisation, I feel think many colleges and universities get stuck in the process of the written part of jazz band and forget the importance of creativity in jazz
