@Mouat97 Hey, don't dis Margaret Brown, she was anything but a moron, she came from nothing, her father fled Ireland after the famine and when her husband made money after striking gold, she learnt 3 languages and educated herself...
for fucks sake, it makes the scene slapstick-like......thank god they threw it out. moreoever, just a minute before this scene, the entire ship was rattling violently, and everyone in their mother was in shock. i knew molly brown was a spitfire, but even she would've been shitting her heels
This scene on its own makes it look like the Titanic just sailed past the ice burg like "lalalalalaaaaaa" (i know this scene is after it hits - but on its own it looks like it sails past LOl!)
I can just see the ice talking like that dude on Family guy
"Hey how y'all doin tonight just goin to sneak by ya here oops Ohhhh noooo I put a hole in your ship sorry about that hey I put a hole in these guys ship"
They couldn't keep this scene, after women in early 1900s usually didnt were allowed to drink by themselves like that. It was the flappers in 1920s who broke the rules and after that women were more liberate
hahaha bloody hilarious, but i think, this is where the tragedy of the movie starts to build and to have it would have ruined the objective of the film to pull the audience along with the journey. wise choice to delete it, but hilarious as an isolated scene
i think it was siutable to remove this scene because everyone would have ended up laughing after watching the berg pass behind Molly (or whatever her name), and that would have been wrong in such a crisis...
@027220 we all know that, and titanic it's my favorite film, I watched titanic like what... 100 times? I love al the prominors and the people reacting, the story, and all the other things
but you need to know when you can laught about something funny, because people were not sad all the travel.
@5KellyChan5 Jim Cameron says on the commentary that it was cut 'cause it was too cute, thus, not a place for humor in the middle of the iceberg hit.
Cameron explained this scene's exclusion by the statement "it was too cute for the situation."
For historical reasons, this scene should've never been even considered. Mrs. Brown (who wasn't even called Molly until after her death) was in her cabin during the collision and not in the Palm Court (which I doubt was even open that late at night).
I could be wrong, but wasn't this scene along with a few other deleted scenes on a VHS release of the film? I feel like I've seen it before back when I first watched this movie... My memory could be off though.
They probably did not use this scene because the whereabouts of Margaret Brown are historically covered: She was in her cabin at the time of the impact an read a book. So depicting her in the palm court asking for ice would be artistic license.
@sowaskomisches Well, there was another joke on deleted scenes. Roses mother came into gymnasium and instructor asked if she wants to try rowing machine. She said, that an absurd, can it be anything more unnecessary to do for a lady. Of next deleted scene you see her rowing lifeboat along with Molly Brown. :)
hahahahah,, they should have kept that in.
Would add a little levity to the situation.
