Thank goodness someone is teaching down and OUT, not down and round or overbent. When this rider got on, the horse had already been warmed up by JP if you listen...also, all the rider does is take up a contact....all well schooled horses know how to carry themselves...they don't have to be made to do it.
Where is the warm up?. Warm up is essential just like a warm up for humans excersize. It also gets the horse to listen to you alot better. There is no warm up here.
She climbs on the horse and right away tight contact / head lock ??? why ??? never heard about that 20 seconds window of opportunity ... what about warm up , relaxation , loose reins , long and low and then pick up the reins and contact .... of course ANYBODY can jump on a horse 's back and get his head locked up , of course ..... what is the point if that ??? WHAT IS THE HURRY ???
I now have a better understanding 'why' it is important for my horse to be round and a renewed motivation to keep him that way. I hope to see more from you in the future.
Thank you, I have learned a great deal from watching this lesson. What a wonderful explanation of why we round the horse, best I've ever heard:)

This is part 5 of the lesson - she has been riding him for 30 minutes already.
Thanks, JP, I had GREAT success in applying this leg aid and my horse goes consistently round now. What a difference this has made!
