You know, joining the army sounds good, but , Obama said that there are gonna be budget cuts with the military, but special forces will still be needed. Should I join the army and then go for green berets? If I join the army and enlist, and then I say that I want to be an officer, which school would they send me to?? Thanks
@penton11 benning. And no you're lucky the more you endure the more shit you can talk. 400push ups in full battle rattle m4's on hands. Fuck yeah benning!
hey david Im 17. I want to join the military but i have talked to my parents about it and my dad hates the idea. Are there any tips to help him let me go to the Army?

hi I'm shipping off to BCT on April 17,2012 at Ft Leonard Wood,MI and I was wondering how's the weather there around that time...and also what brand is your new camera? lol :)
@DJSIQGRINDER Ft Leonard Wood March 9th 2012 here for Military Police. I here it get's hot as hell during the day and cold as shit during night lol. Be prepared for the unknown is all I can tell you man.
I leave Nov. 22nd. Im subscribed to your page & Ive been watching your videos for weeks. Theyre great! thanks for the time & effort making these videos.
@luvtwinkie1993 Oh, I know! I hate AKO, but you'll have to get used to using it. To play devil's advocate, AKO is a major portal to every bit of knowledge, help and training you could want to gain. Kinda have to make the best of it and take the good with the bad. :/
Best video about getting ready... All other videos talk about boot, this one talks about getting your life straight before you head out. It's food for thought, when you can go train without worrying about the little things; makes a big difference.
im enlisting soon, training before i go tho im 5'8 runnin 8 miles a day now 35 pushups reps ofcourse i quit smoking and started dieting, drinking carrot juice n eating carrotts every day to improve my eye sight(because i wear glasses) i play basketball about 3 times a week and been reading n meditating alot to toughn up mentally.any other tips by anyone whos been thru BCT before i go?????
@MsDisturbedpuppy start running 3-4 miles a day..trust me it will help u big time..also work on the proper way to do pushups and situps because the army standards are different..
If you were misdiagnosed then your medical records should reflect that and then bipolar disorder is a non-issue. Lying gets people hurt and/or killed including the person that lies at worse. At best one only gets caught and discharged. So don't lie. If you're going to try to enlist, then do so sparing no information that is asked of you. However, don't volunteer information that wasn't asked either. If someone encourages you to lie, then that person is not thinking of your well-being!
hey david i was diagnosed with adhd when i was 5 and when i was 12 they said i was misdiagnosed but actually i had bi polar which the test the pyschiatrist game was 400 questions i was 12 so i just filled in anything ..i dont get mad easily i get mad at what normal people get mad at ....but my problem is you cant get in the army with bipolar and i dont wanna lie but my dad who was in the coast guard said to lie to the recruiter what should i do
@PatrickkkSTAR Just do what your drill sergeants tell you to do and when they intend for you to accomplish the task. Remember it's all a head game. Don't take every too personal, if even at all. Have fun! In as much as BCT will be extremely stressful at times, you WILL get a lot of laughs, maybe even out of your drill sergeants. :) Trust your training and do your best. What you read about in your smart book is relevant--cover to cover. Don't take your BRM instruction for granted!
@PatrickkkSTAR Remember these three things: SPORTS, The Four Fundamentals and Muzzle Awareness! You'll learn why later if you don't know now. TRUST ME!!!
@MrWestpoint2311 No you won't get a cake, but if you decide to inform the drill sergeants that you are turning 18, they will gladly smoke you and anyone else around for each year you've lived--for fun of course, they just won't smile about it. OR they might make you do a wonderful exercise where you repeatedly jump really high and shout each time, "I'm a bright shining star!". It all really depends on where you go for basic training and who your drill sergeants are. And I kid you not.
School will help you as far as promotion, and if your degree is related to any particular job in the Army that also helps, especially if you decide to become a commissioned officer at some point in your Army career.
Hey david, thanks for the tips man, i get shipped to jackson this november, so i got a bit of time in between now and basic but im gonna definently use these tips. My thanks to you and who knows maybe we'll get stuck in a platoon together one day. Thanks man! :)
@godavidstrong Hey David I'm joining up after my year of College. Will I get credit for college when I enlist. My recruiter told me I get credit already for Jrotc but will school help me as well?
im not sure where to find this information so im just gonna ask u. junior in hs, and wants to join the army RESERVES. i understand that i'll get the same benefits as the active, but i was wondering if ill be going to basic training this summer if i join rite now. if ur not sure, can u tell me where to find this information. thanks bro
@bb33nnii When you ship for basic training is VERY uncertain. There is no way to tell you until you go to MEPS, take the oath of enlistment and see your career counselor. There is no way of knowing prior to that I'm sorry.
Hey im 17 years old and a junior in high school I want to join the Army and i want help on knowing what i need to know and how to prepare myself can anyone help me please ?
Hey guys. I need help. Im 16 and im 25 credits behind in school and im a junior. Do i need a HS Diploma to join the army reserves? Or will they allow me to join with a GED, instead of a diploma? If anyone knows, that'd be great. Thanks.
@707Airsoft bro the army takes less then 5% of ged holders a year,i have a ged but i went to job corps and i have established clock hrs similar to college credits so i count as a hs graduate
@707Airsoft If you get a ged you may have to have 15 college credits to enlist. Also sometimes they have ged slots available. In that case you would only need a 50 or above to enlist. Thats if your joining the army.
@707Airsoft it's not as simple as that. You can join with a GED sometimes, you may need a wavier or 15 college credits. With only a GED you will more than likely not be able to receive a bonus. Quickest way to have all of your military questions answered...go to your local recruiters office. The internet is filled with misinformation about the military. Good Luck.
Hey guys. I need help. Im 16 and im not sure if i'll get a diploma, cause im 25 credits behind in school and im a junior. I plan on getting in the army reserves, but do i need a diploma? Insomnia is kicking my ass because I'm in the process of reenlisting. I've been out of the military for over ten years and joining the Army. You've hit every tip on the head! When I joined the Air Force back in 2000, i went in with no pre-knowledge of anything whatsoever. I've elected to go through Basic Combat Training instead of the half ass one month training offered to prior enlisted individuals at Ft. Sill. Study up on everything Army and get your asses whipped into shape. Most important
@ChanVideos I am 17 and have joined the reserves and plan on doing ROTC to.. I am gonna have full tuition pay at uw milwaukee. Also if I get accepted into a med school the army plans on putting me through that.. Go to college so you dont do shit work when you get deployed.
@ChanVideos Don't be discouraged. You will need to definitely start some weight lifting and eating healthily (three square meals with healthy snacks in between). Don't do too much cardio outside of running, keep running but every so often to start. If you really want join the military and you are truly motivated and driven, then you'll do what it will take to get enlisted. Think about it and dig down deep. I believe you can do it! :)
@godavidstrong Thanks :D I really appreciate your advice :) I already have weights class in school and I am sure I have already gained a few pounds since the last time I checked my weight because I haven't checked in a few months. I try to eat a lot but I just have a high matabilsm(*?) and it's hard for me to gain weight. But I have heard that spaghetti is my best friend when it comes to gaining weight and building muscle, what do you say about it? Thanks again. :D
@ChanVideos Make sure you getting a good source of protein before and after your workouts. Protein is what your muscles need to recover and grow. All the best!
no offense, but did anyone mention anything about you being gay? i know back in july they were still on the subject of dont ask dont tell, and you have a gay accent. just sayin'. so was that any problem for you?
@mrpaddywagon How would you know with whom I sleep with behind closed doors, based solely upon my accent? Your line of questioning is predicated upon the assumption or belief, that one can undeniably determine that a person sleeps with x ("x" being whomever) because of y accent ("y" being the type of accept identified). Let me answer your question with a question. What kind of an accent does a murderer have? German, Arabic, or how about American? Your stereotypical reasoning is offensive.
@mrpaddywagon Now had you simply asked if I am gay, I wouldn't have been offended because that would appear at least somewhat genuine, straight forward and honest. Or if you'd asked me my thoughts on the Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy I would have had a lot to tell you. You, young man, committed a major fraggo.
@mrpaddywagon Your statement dismisses the reality of the wrong that stereotyping is. It's just as if not more offensive for to ASSUME that y ou're one of those young rich white boy who has nothing better to do than troll people's YouTube channels. But saying that robs you of the benefit of the doubt that you might genuinely be far from what prejudged you to be. But I know better and wouldn't say such a thing. I could care less about your question, it's the wrong of prejudice I'm after.
@mrpaddywagon Bottom line is this. Prejudice is a dangerous and forbidden weapon. More importantly the irony of using this weapon is that the user must always be prepared and understand that the same force with which you prejudge a person can just as easily be turned upon you, and is usually much more hurtful than the way you inflicted the first blow. I won't be communicating with you any longer because I fear I casted my pearls before a swine and spoke over your head.
i work out everyday use a punching bag for cardio i did mma training for 3 months lol i think im ready i have like 8% body fat.. i can run 2 miles in 13 minutes i think im ready before i even go :) what you think
@grant2053 talk to your recruiter to see if he/she will take you to get your CAC card now. you most certainly can. I did. just make sure you speak up about it. you'd be surprised how much you can get by asking--on the same token, you'd be surprised how much pass people by in the army do to sheer misinformation or just not knowing. :) good luck with your army career. :)
Def some good info being put out here. godavidstrong is giving out great pointers, and viewers who are debating on joining should listen to these 12 steps. There are many more that can be mentioned as well. I am a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army, and I agree with this guy. Good luck to future members, and please complete the cycle ready to work when you get to your first duty station. And please know what discipline is. There seems to be a lack of it now a days.
cant wait to finish basic, the workouts are to easy for me but hey alteast other skills to learn. run 6min 40sec mile, 80+ pushups , situps 400+, and marching not a problem for me
Hey David we may be ken folk lol we have the same last name! And I'm trying to get into the Navy I pray all goes well with it. And good luck to you man do our country proud!
hey dude i would like to knoe more about the I.D how can i get it ? im shippin OCT 12 to basic .. i got the ID they give u on ,meps future soldier ID !! BUT I WANT THE REAL ONE !>? send me a mess thank you !
seriously thank you so much!as you were speaking i was constantly opening up new tabs to do some research on some of your topics like drill weekend, the pocket pt guide (which is also a available PDF file online
I have some some past research and im not sure if the phonetic alphabet is no longer required for the Army but possibly still the Navy
@kmfiske13 You're very welcome! Glad I could help. If you find anything new, please let me know so that I can update any incorrect information in this video. Thanks! :)
i dont know if anyone else is seeing this....but you are on point man. it is like you are a pro, the vids, tips, and advice. i just want to ask you something, are you already in army or like the rest of us trying to get to bmt.lol i never seen so many people that WANT bmt
@g3tlucky7 Sorry to reply late. I just saw your comment. I am awaiting to ship to basic combat training. And I agree, I didn't expect to see so many people eager to go to bct/bmt. lol
Dude your awesome! I understand the Army and the Air Force are two different branches, but I've been following some of these techniques without even realizing it. I leave in a month and I've been working out essentially hard. On another note, is it me or did you lose some weight? You're looking good bro.
@B1urred Awesome! Keep up the good work. Yep. I began to intensify my work outs three weeks ago with a combination of Yoga, Balanceball workouts, P90X, while running and sprinting every other day. Running too much daily can thin me out fast, so I try not to do too much of it, but just enough to open my lungs, strengthen my heart and increase endurance. The lost weight has been a plus even though I was always under my Max Weight.
Tomorrow I'm shipping to Fort Jackson! Woot!!!

Study up on everything Army and get your asses whipped into shape. Most important

I'm a 17 year old Junior in High School.. Should I join the Reserves? I have no money for College or Job. Any advice would be awesome.
ChanVideos 1 year ago
@ChanVideos I am 17 and have joined the reserves and plan on doing ROTC to.. I am gonna have full tuition pay at uw milwaukee. Also if I get accepted into a med school the army plans on putting me through that.. Go to college so you dont do shit work when you get deployed.
TheThekid0909 1 year ago
@TheThekid0909 Figured out I can't. I'm 71 inches and only way 120 pounds. I need to gain like 15 pounds before I can.
ChanVideos 1 year ago
@ChanVideos Don't be discouraged. You will need to definitely start some weight lifting and eating healthily (three square meals with healthy snacks in between). Don't do too much cardio outside of running, keep running but every so often to start. If you really want join the military and you are truly motivated and driven, then you'll do what it will take to get enlisted. Think about it and dig down deep. I believe you can do it! :)
godavidstrong 1 year ago
@godavidstrong Thanks :D I really appreciate your advice :) I already have weights class in school and I am sure I have already gained a few pounds since the last time I checked my weight because I haven't checked in a few months. I try to eat a lot but I just have a high matabilsm(*?) and it's hard for me to gain weight. But I have heard that spaghetti is my best friend when it comes to gaining weight and building muscle, what do you say about it? Thanks again. :D
ChanVideos 1 year ago
@ChanVideos Make sure you getting a good source of protein before and after your workouts. Protein is what your muscles need to recover and grow. All the best!

oh my god! he is trying to help future soldiers out!!! shut up! who cares if hes gay or if hes not? its AMERICA.
MakeupMelody22810 1 year ago
no offense, but did anyone mention anything about you being gay? i know back in july they were still on the subject of dont ask dont tell, and you have a gay accent. just sayin'. so was that any problem for you?
mrpaddywagon 1 year ago
@mrpaddywagon How would you know with whom I sleep with behind closed doors, based solely upon my accent? Your line of questioning is predicated upon the assumption or belief, that one can undeniably determine that a person sleeps with x ("x" being whomever) because of y accent ("y" being the type of accept identified). Let me answer your question with a question. What kind of an accent does a murderer have? German, Arabic, or how about American? Your stereotypical reasoning is offensive.
godavidstrong 1 year ago
@godavidstrong Gay man response^^^^^
DirtyDebFurn 1 year ago
@mrpaddywagon Now had you simply asked if I am gay, I wouldn't have been offended because that would appear at least somewhat genuine, straight forward and honest. Or if you'd asked me my thoughts on the Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy I would have had a lot to tell you. You, young man, committed a major fraggo.
godavidstrong 1 year ago
@godavidstrong i would apoligize if you werent gay, but if you are, then i think my question was fine.
mrpaddywagon 1 year ago
@mrpaddywagon Your statement dismisses the reality of the wrong that stereotyping is. It's just as if not more offensive for to ASSUME that y ou're one of those young rich white boy who has nothing better to do than troll people's YouTube channels. But saying that robs you of the benefit of the doubt that you might genuinely be far from what prejudged you to be. But I know better and wouldn't say such a thing. I could care less about your question, it's the wrong of prejudice I'm after.
godavidstrong 1 year ago
@mrpaddywagon Bottom line is this. Prejudice is a dangerous and forbidden weapon. More importantly the irony of using this weapon is that the user must always be prepared and understand that the same force with which you prejudge a person can just as easily be turned upon you, and is usually much more hurtful than the way you inflicted the first blow. I won't be communicating with you any longer because I fear I casted my pearls before a swine and spoke over your head.

How do i get my CAC, i don't ship to basic until June 5th so what do i have to do to get it?
grant2053 1 year ago

@usafmason21 Cool. How come you're switching to the Army? All the best at MEPS tomorrow!
godavidstrong 1 year ago
Dude your awesome! I understand the Army and the Air Force are two different branches, but I've been following some of these techniques without even realizing it. I leave in a month and I've been working out essentially hard. On another note, is it me or did you lose some weight? You're looking good bro.
B1urred 1 year ago
@B1urred Awesome! Keep up the good work. Yep. I began to intensify my work outs three weeks ago with a combination of Yoga, Balanceball workouts, P90X, while running and sprinting every other day. Running too much daily can thin me out fast, so I try not to do too much of it, but just enough to open my lungs, strengthen my heart and increase endurance. The lost weight has been a plus even though I was always under my Max Weight.
