I had hold of the neck of the guitar when he handed it into the crowd, but a security man wrestled it back after about 3 or 4 minutes because there would have been trouble otherwise. He put it back on the stage and some journalist picked it up apparently and sold it recently.
appartly in 04 they put it in the experience music project in Seattle, but i didnt see it there the two times that ive been so they must have it in storage or sold it or something.
last i went there i could swear there was a piece from one of his journals on display that was on a gray paper like the ones at the end of journals that had colored pencil on it and said
a security guard ripped it from the lucky guy and put it back on the stage - he's the one who's lucky he walked out alive as the punches rained down on him and the commotion made Kurt look back as he exited stage left. Still vivid today despite the years passing!
apparently they're releasing an OFFICIAL version of Reading 92', and i'm not talking about that shitty bootleg where they covered the time code with the song names, and they don't even have breed on it. But yeah, it's apparently coming out in 2009 =D
That sunburst Strat? Earnie (Cobain's guitar tech" made that for him out of left overs and Stew Mac parts. Last I saw, it was smashed and then auctioned off in London in between '96 and '97 I think. (I still have the Rolling Stone cut out somewhere, the pickups were gone and the body was cracked)
Foo Fighters are different from Nirvana, but they are still great. Just cause you don't like em doesn't mean you should bash them.
Anyway, whats with the whole people "dancing" on stage phenomenon in the early 90's? Most Nirvana performances seem to be accompanied by male dancers...
i think it was a nod to the happy mondays... like when kurt did his morrisey impression durring smells like teen spirit on a british show...the name of which escapes me.
I was born in the summer of '86. Only really heard of nirvana when the 2nd wave of fans came in... year 2000 or 2001. Although sub-consciously I probably knew their name all along. I must have been 6 years old when this concert happened..i wouldnt have been into it. i dont think they were much on tv in britain. We were mostly brainwashed with pop music i think. you were born in '93.. well, u'd have to be 10/11 years older atleast to really get them..I didnt get them and I'm older than you are!
I have the Cobain´s Guitar!! xD

The arpeggio Kurt is playing over and over at the start sounds like Sunday Bloody Sunday by U2.

Kurt was so awesome, I doubt many other guitarists would hand away their guitar to a random person at the end of the shows

If only Cobain would've swung his guitar at Dave Grohl's head.
We wouldn't have the Foo Fighters.

Ha ha
The Foo Fighters have turned into a radio-friendly little group.
Do you really not see how banal they have become?
They WERE interesting for approx. 5 minutes.
You don't seriously like their output over the last few years???
jonnywotsit 3 years ago
why dont u make a cult about it, go suicide.
crowboy99 3 years ago 2
That depends on how many Foo Foo songs I hear on the radio.
jonnywotsit 3 years ago 2
Fuck. I was born in 75 and I was 15 when this group first broke.
Talk about epiphany.
