My facts are straight. This song was written by Lionel Ritchie and is on his album. Lionel is a close friend of the Jackson's and has worked with them many occasions, specifically Taj Jackson of 3T. 3T did a remake of his song Stuck on You on their last album. Taj Jackson recorded this song with Lionel's permission. If the dude you know is the singer, then he would have had to pay for the rights to sing this song and he would be able to put his name out there and take credit for the song.
