Ohmygod. SHUT UP about Halo already. The project fell through and Peter Jackson promised Niel a different movie, so he did it on his childhood: Apartheid. He symbolized and brought an amazing movie to this world. You people are just prissy that your precious Halo wasn't made, that's why you don't like District 9.

I loved District 9, and because of that movie, I was VERY thrilled when I seen this at first..... Until I found out the project fell through a while back. Then I was disappoint. Neil is a VERY good director, and I'd rather him do this than Steven Spielberg IMO.

Halo had good graphics, gameplay, etc. but it was all stuff we had seen before. Half-life was one of a kind, one day you;ll understand

I'll agree, all except "it's all the stuff we've seen before." I don't think any game series has as deep of a story as Halo. Never have I sen an alien race who wants to destroy us because of their religion, and then massive twists of plot from the different ways the Covenant took over different planets and species to form their military, to the way the Forunners are over 200,00 years old, and destroyed themselves, but preserved life to stop the flood...

If most people were asked to make a live action Halo commercial it probably would have been an intense battle that would have ended up being pretty cheesy. Instead Blomkamp just shows footage of people preparing for war, suiting up, and getting their vehicles ready and its that much more exciting.

Dudes I am a hard core Watchmen fan, meaning the book, and it was great. If you feel left out due to the Tales of the Black Freighter and small parts being left out, buy the extended version when it comes out. It has close to everything. Like you guys could do better.

And it has been dropped due to the massive cost it would make to create Halo. All the production companies are afraid to touch it. But yess, if district 9 does well, so will this.

Actually Neil Blomkamp was signed on to direct the Halo movie, with Peter Jackson Executive Producing, until it got canned. the Halo movie is dead for now. The man who directed Pan's Labyrinth is Guillermo Del Torro, he is getting ready to direct the Hobbit movies right noe (it got split into 2 parts) Peter Jackson is Executive Producing that as well.

they are making a movie... technically... they were hoping that Halo 3 would reenergize the push for this movie. Blomkamp has been put at the helm of this project by Peter Jackson himself. Fox Studios has bought out the rights for the movie. With any luck, expect a late 2009 early 2010 release.
