i just got a bass today

for playing guitar for 3 years and picking up a bass for the sencond time

anyway, i dig musicman and a local guitarcenter has a baby blue stingray

the G&L L-2000 looks to me like Leo Fender's personal upgrade to this bass.

smarter pickups, wayyy more versitile, better bridge-better tuners.

just less popular, and I have no idea why.

its not over 9000, i have one just like this in all black (body and gaurd) with duel pickups. I also have a rosewood neck instead of maple. And it cost me €2000 including a rectangle hardcase and a stingray t-shirt. Best bass ever, percissions are amazing and all, but the neck is far to thick which makes them uncomfortable after a while. The stingray feels amazin and also sounds alot smoother

Exactly! The MM Stingray sound is much younger, but VASTLY different, and legendary in it's own right. Any bassist should aspire to own at least one of each. I'd love a Stingray in my humble collection.

Mine was $1400. What did you expect them to be? They are a great bass, and it's worth the money, especially if you get the MM Stingray HH.
