Not all DC heroes are bad. They invented the green lanterns, 3 of the most iconic superheroes in the world, 4 of the greatest villains ever, plus, they have vertigo and Alan Moore, can't get any better then that.

Awesome! I love the green arrow. Its really cool how I recognize the location of one of the scenes too. Where the green arrow shoots a guy in front of the taqueria, its in San Francisco outside of the Stockton tunnel. Pretty awesome, since I'm right there a lot.
During the Mike Grell run of Green Arrow it wasn't uncommon for Ollie to use lethal force on his enemies, judging by that, the generally gritty style of this trailer, and the costume design chosen (going with the green hooded tunic, which was used during Grell's run, as opposed to the more traditional tri-corner hat design) I think it's safe to say the creators of this film were highly influenced by that incarnation of the character. I'd like to see a Green Arrow movie, actually.

That's mostly because unless a TV show offers something that people can't get in the comics, there's no reason to do it. If TV writers were restricted to the source material, there'd be no room for anything fresh. It would be predictable to comic book fans, which means that the people with the most reason to watch a comics show would be most bored.
Sacred as the comics are, I don't see anything wrong with branching out and taking a few liberties in the name of making a show more entertaining.

Honestly I felt they did an ok job. Green Arrow is my second favorite superhero and I think that for a fan made film it was pretty epic. Now if I wanted to start bitching about inaccuracies I would be going on for a while, but I liked the feel of it. It had a very dark Gothic feel, which admittedly is more Gotham's MO it works. I also felt you did well on the outfit and the characters. Felt like it could be made into a movie. I wouldn't watch it if it was officially Hollywood produced, but for-

I'm all for the original design of the Green Arrow. That mustache kicks ass.

this was a good short film except... Does he actually ever kill people in the comics? He has trick arrows that are supposed to do different things. I know this is just a low budget film but all you see him do it shoot his arrows into people.
However, he has always been recognized as among the best swordsmen in the DC Universe, so it does make sense they added a sword to the character. Green Arrow doesn't normally kill his opponents, as they show him here either, but it adds to the character quite a bit. Better than that lame Smallville take on the character at least
Its unfortunate that a GA movie won't be made til 2011 because of Batman and Superman movies, i hope they make it a film series and that he uses high tech equipment like in Smallville with his bow and mini crossbow and sunglasses
I'm actually okay with the interpretation on Smallville. They make a point of showing how talented of an archer he is, and anything that gets GA more exposure in the mainstream is a plus.

2nd green arrow HAS killed BUT the guilt he went through was more then he could ever handle, which is why he uses TRICK arrows ex. Boxing Glove Arrows. Connor on the other hand uses more traditional arrows, along with Red Arrow. A perfect example is in Green Lantern: Rebirth, when the Black Hand was trying to steal Hal's former Lantern, and Arrow and speedy were just going to arrest him, and how freaked out Arrow was when hal was about to kill Hand.
You, sir, need to read more comics. Heck, even looking up Green Arrow on Wikipedia would be enlightening enough to show you that Green Arrow can, has, and in all likelihood WILL kill.

"Far better" is an opinion. No, I don't like the purely ranger look. Its too obvious and I think the hood is needed on the tunic. I think a lot of the modernizations of costumes make them look stupid. Look at Batman's costume in Dark Knight. It was ugly. Awesome movie, bad costume.

The video was well done, but disturbing. The Green Arrow doesn't use lethal force. This video is the equivalent of giving Batman an UZI. Again, nice video but very poor form on the representation of The Green Arrow.

There is the corny, feather in the cap Green Arrow with the boxing glove arrow, and then there is Mike Grell's darker version of Green Arrow. If you haven't read the "Long Bow Hunter" series, read it. In it you will find that Green Arrow does kill, occasionally. If you didn't know that, than you don't know Green Arrow. Read it.
Green Arrow is like the best hero, in my opinion, and he would definitely not go kill people. He doesn't even have a sword... and he doesn't wear his hood that much...
I have to agree that the killing is completely out of character. There are options to comic booky 'Boxing Glove Arrows'. Arrows with 1" metal balls on the end that would have served as same purpose. I would have liked to have seen some of the more interesting arrows like one shoots a zip line for Arrow to move from rooftop to rooftop.
Acting was good and the visuals very nice. Composition and cutting - very professional.

It's been a long time since I read it, but isn't the plot of this based on THE LONGBOW HUNTERS. I vaguely remember Ollie going after some businessman who then brings in an assassin, and some other plot about a man who mutilates and kills women. Can anyone confirm this?
For a fan-made trailer, this is pretty impressive. They used actual actors (the business man was very convincing) and a realistic script. The effects under the titles was good, and I'm even a bit impressed with the work that went into the costume. Great job, guys.
No, Ollie wouldn't really go about killing criminals like that. But then, neither would Batman, but that didn't stop him from mowing down bad guys in the crappy 1989 Film. But then, maybe that movie was based solely on Batman's portrayal in The Dark Knight Returns.
So, perhaps, The makers of this Trailer based their Green Arrow on the Long Bow Hunters version, but that's just me guessing.
Great looking trailer. My only gripe is the music. It sounds way too much like Superman or Batman scores. If you used something orechestral, yet actiony(is that a word?) try something like David Arkenstone's 'Atlantis' or others. Vangelis is another option.
All in all, an well-made fan trailer. I always like seeing Green Arrow come to life, whether it's Smallville, JLU, or this. Not on par with Grayson, but then again, no fan trailer made so far really is.

you've gotta be kiddin me! if this isn't a whole bunch a crap, this movie is gonna suck. and i was hopin i could contact steven spielberg and persuade him to make a green arrow movie. if he did one, it'd be so much better. green arrow wielding a sword is so wrong it ain't even funny. he only uses a bow and arrow. if this is true, i ain't seein this piece of crap.

I'm all for the original design of the Green Arrow. That mustache kicks ass.
And I mean come on... the costume takes classic to a whole other level.
Plus it just fits his character better.
I think this trailer was okay... but it was far too dark to give it a real Green Arrow feel. It's almost like they tried to play it up like Gotham City.

this was a good short film except... Does he actually ever kill people in the comics? He has trick arrows that are supposed to do different things. I know this is just a low budget film but all you see him do it shoot his arrows into people.

However, he has always been recognized as among the best swordsmen in the DC Universe, so it does make sense they added a sword to the character. Green Arrow doesn't normally kill his opponents, as they show him here either, but it adds to the character quite a bit. Better than that lame Smallville take on the character at least

Its unfortunate that a GA movie won't be made til 2011 because of Batman and Superman movies, i hope they make it a film series and that he uses high tech equipment like in Smallville with his bow and mini crossbow and sunglasses

I'm actually okay with the interpretation on Smallville. They make a point of showing how talented of an archer he is, and anything that gets GA more exposure in the mainstream is a plus.

very well done and looks good ...feel bad for all those lame ass fan boys posts here jeez man its a comic book character he can be told anyway and I like the smallville style archer rider look, much more realistic and menacing then his lame leotards looking like a campy robinhood/peterpan in the comics

1st mistake ur using Wiki as a primary source
2nd green arrow HAS killed BUT the guilt he went through was more then he could ever handle, which is why he uses TRICK arrows ex. Boxing Glove Arrows. Connor on the other hand uses more traditional arrows, along with Red Arrow. A perfect example is in Green Lantern: Rebirth, when the Black Hand was trying to steal Hal's former Lantern, and Arrow and speedy were just going to arrest him, and how freaked out Arrow was when hal was about to kill Hand.

yeha but when you think about it as a modern look is far beter anyone who thinks they want to watch a movie or a live action series of a guy in present times dressed like a gay robin hood from the old 40's bw movies has to be joking. don't you think that the ranger look is more suitable and still gives that classic look he was going for?

"Far better" is an opinion. No, I don't like the purely ranger look. Its too obvious and I think the hood is needed on the tunic. I think a lot of the modernizations of costumes make them look stupid. Look at Batman's costume in Dark Knight. It was ugly. Awesome movie, bad costume.
(Also, hate to burst your bubble, but Robin Hood was gay...so that "gay Robin Hood" comment is a bit redundant. It was in the 15th century that monks fearing his reputation was compromised that added Maid Marion. :P)

I think you need to do more history checking cause there was nothing in the history books that show robin was ever gay , there has been alot of debate on who maid marion realy is if she did exist...basicaly robin hood is up there with king arthur...all debatable if they existed or was accurate in there depictions. well come on you want some guy in leotards and a dumb triangle hat with a feather and beard alright but to be far rangers rock

I think you are the one who needs to check into history. o.O; I've actually looked into this stuff after seeing a special on the History Channel...I didn't believe it myself until I found various sources stating the same. While Robin Hood did in a sense exist, he's been beefed up recently. And OBVIOUSLY, King Arthur never existed. Lol.

yeah I am a history major! and it was Stephen Knight who wrote about him being gay and well his only real background on it was a sketch for a "story" that made him appear like he was a homo! theres still no evidence as for merry men...comeon! king arthur is still up for debate after all merlin did exist so why not the king but thats beside the point I'm talking about superheroes and tights not history. Knight was only trying to get publicity

Green Arrow reacts faster, aims faster, and moves faster. He also has top-level intuitive abilities - he'll know you're there before even you do.

Sort of. There'd be no point in having a superhero vulnerable to guns - so Green Arrow was made good enough to counter them effectively.
Green Arrow spent his origin on a desert island, and he's proven in the comics that his awareness of his surroundings is superior to that of the average human.

There is the corny, feather in the cap Green Arrow with the boxing glove arrow, and then there is Mike Grell's darker version of Green Arrow. If you haven't read the "Long Bow Hunter" series, read it. In it you will find that Green Arrow does kill, occasionally. If you didn't know that, than you don't know Green Arrow. Read it.

I have to agree that the killing is completely out of character. There are options to comic booky 'Boxing Glove Arrows'. Arrows with 1" metal balls on the end that would have served as same purpose. I would have liked to have seen some of the more interesting arrows like one shoots a zip line for Arrow to move from rooftop to rooftop.
Acting was good and the visuals very nice. Composition and cutting - very professional.

It's been a long time since I read it, but isn't the plot of this based on THE LONGBOW HUNTERS. I vaguely remember Ollie going after some businessman who then brings in an assassin, and some other plot about a man who mutilates and kills women. Can anyone confirm this?

For a fan-made trailer, this is pretty impressive. They used actual actors (the business man was very convincing) and a realistic script. The effects under the titles was good, and I'm even a bit impressed with the work that went into the costume. Great job, guys.

No, Ollie wouldn't really go about killing criminals like that. But then, neither would Batman, but that didn't stop him from mowing down bad guys in the crappy 1989 Film. But then, maybe that movie was based solely on Batman's portrayal in The Dark Knight Returns.
So, perhaps, The makers of this Trailer based their Green Arrow on the Long Bow Hunters version, but that's just me guessing.

Great looking trailer. My only gripe is the music. It sounds way too much like Superman or Batman scores. If you used something orechestral, yet actiony(is that a word?) try something like David Arkenstone's 'Atlantis' or others. Vangelis is another option.

All in all, an well-made fan trailer. I always like seeing Green Arrow come to life, whether it's Smallville, JLU, or this. Not on par with Grayson, but then again, no fan trailer made so far really is.
