How do you get the camera to view the player like that, like at 0:09? I've trying to do that for months, how is that done?

@sampsonist make the camera look the "center of mass" of the car, look at point parented to the car, no the model.

though the controls have to be modified, but that is obvious

I think UDK is capable of better graphics and eyecandy, but I really like the reflections on the car chasis, is it "true reflection" or just a cubemap or something? Either way it looks cool.

you can get the same graphics in both if you write your own shaders... dont know about dx11 support in unity though

I too agree that Unity is substantially easier to use. It's only drawback is that the end results will never be up to par compared to UDK in terms of visuals.

@myertveho All it needs is dx11 and a few important features.

It needs quite a few more features, and the UE3 engine is being upgraded all the time as well. While Unity3d improves, so does UE3. I think UE3 has a lot more money behind it as well. Either way, the free Cryengine 3 SDK will be out soon, which is superior to both engines (imo) anyway

@myertveho yea, I use unity because it's easy to use. But mostly for playing around. I use BGE, UDK, Irrlicht etc. for actual projects that need quality.

@myertveho actually it just depends on how good the artist who did how your game looks is what makes the quality good or not.The game can look really awesome, you just need a good artist.

If only UDK was as easy to use as The Games Factory or Multimedia Fusion (absolutely NO programming required whatsoever). We could all have blockbuster games made in a matter of days, developed by 1 person. Man even the thought just gives me tingles!
