Brent has an amazing voice. Shinedown's music has gotten me through rough times in my life and I appreciate that so much. As for people commenting on his weight, so what. Great voices - I knew Brent was a hell of a singer, but I didn't know the background vocals were going to be so good. (For the record he's not technically "dropping the octave" during most of this. He's just hitting the lower harmony that you hear on the album version. One of the other fellas is singing the melody.)

Yeah, he has sounded excellent on record. People might be complaining about his live performances because he tends to sing flat, and doesn't always hit the big note like he does in a studio situation. If you're paying money to watch a live show, the singer should deliver.

@sgwinn1 He doesnt sing flat. Its a vocal technique called "dropping an octave". He hits the same note, its just an octave lower so he doesnt blow his voice out. Most people that know anything about live music and performing will tell you the same.
