I just got some today for Christmas and thy are awesome! I got two 5x5x5 (125 balls) packs In golden edition. I'v made them into that ball with the half of another ball as the stand. IT LOOKS AWESOME!!

@SomniaTube I have black, gold, chrome & silver...I prefer silver for gen use. I'd recommend nanodots over bucky tho. Quality & durability are much better than bucky or neo...zen mags r the best, but they cost twice as much. MOST importantly, don't mix brands(like I did)! Diff brands are slightly different sizes & the magnets may not be equally strong... I've got 12 or more sets of nanos, Dr J's, neo's & bucky's & I can tell you it's a bitch to separate them once they're mixed-up!

Those hexagon shapes are my favorite. I have that bucky shape at 1:45 just chilling in front of me right now on my desk. I love those hexagon formations because they make the off center connections with the other bucky balls (better hold then if they are on center), and they tend to be much more stable than most of the other bucky formations I play with.

Where to get them? I got mine off amazon.com, they were cheaper there ($16.95/216 ball set) than anywhere else online, even ebay. The cheapest on ebay is like $25+ for 1 set. Of course the ones I got were kind of generic, not brand name ("Xtreme"), so if you're picky about that then you're going to end up having to pay more ($27+). They are just as good quality, though, & work fine with the other brands.

The spinning column is cool, I gotta try that one.

OK, sometimes when I'm doing the hexagon figures, like the one close to the end that looks like a TIE fighter, it doesn't add up--there will be a piece or two that doesn't fit directly onto the others no matter what the combination. Sometimes I just unwrap one hexagon and then rewrap it the other way around and it works, but not always. Is that typical, or is there a better way?

Thanks for the vid donnyfox, I just bought a pack of these magnet chaps online and have been scratching my head over how to make cubes etc.

Your vid was jolly helpful, especially when you demonstrated how they had to be turned over so they would stick ball to ball, not ball to edge, if you see what I mean.

I also loved the way you made the 3 curved shapes and then squashed them together to make the hexagons again.
