Everyone gets s name plate regardless. Ranks have the option of getting a hard badge and a metal name plate. The rest get the same badge except in patch form and get their name embroidered on their shirt. Ranks can get this done too if they want....I have 2 shirts like it, they are my lazy shirts.

We used to, however, since our department became nationally accredited, we have since changed our shirt to grey.

I was an explorer for 7 years...I take oath as an Sworn Officer tomorrow and start FTO last week of August. The program paid off. I got a job after 2 months of being out of school.

Since we got so few people and so much time I keep getting allot of crap cause I'm the new guy but this next week we got a new girl and the only girl in the group now told the guys dont hit on her till her 3rd or 4th and to just to give her hell...

No... Like I said before we're training to be patrol officers. In SAPD ALL officers must do a minimum of 5 years before applying to a special unit such as K-9. K-9 is not a rank....

To be able to drive one of our cruisers the explorer must have a valid drivers license and attend the city defensive driving course. Even then, we are only allowed to drive in the parking lot or our academy for training. We didnt goto Nationals this past year. Funds were very low.

You need to be 14 and have graduated the 8th grade to apply. You can either come to our Post, the North Wes Substation or you can goto the North Substation. It doesnt really matter, I live in the North service area, prob around where you live and I choose to goto the NW post. Message me if you want any more info.

@levit0531 At most depts,you have to go pick up application which is about 6 pages,you fill out the info,your parents have to fill out info,it will ask to write an essay on why you want to do it,and your school principle and counseler will have to sign it to prove that you are eligable.
