  • I loooove that telecaster body style.

  • @FriendlyShadow1

    Yes, it so cool...

    Thank you for commetary

  • this or a stingray?

  • @illfortune921

Buff... It´s a very difficult question. I´m playing with a Stingray now in my band, and I love it. Perhaps the Stingray suits better with my band now.

But this G&L is more versatile, more different sounds from it. More light weight and his neck is narrow, in the Jazz Bass wave.

The Stingray neck´s is more in the P-Bass style.

So, both are great basses, the same quality. More different souns from the ASAT, but I prefer the Stingray now.

    Good luck.

    Cheers

  • Dude, I've already have a G&L L2000 and I'm absolutely amazed with it. But since a couple of months ago I started wondering about getting an ASAT. What I'm not sure about, is which is the real difference between the solid body and the semi-hollow body models. Can you please give me some advice about it? thx.

  • @ivangarber

Hi and congrats for your L2000. Well, the ASAT has a narrower neck than the L2000, in the Jazz Bass wave.

But I have no experience with the semi-hollow body ASAT, so I can´t help you.

Good luck, the ASAT is a very good bass and easy to play.

    Cheers

  • @ivangarber hey ivangarber. not to intrude, but i believe i can help with this. i have played solid body ASATs, and I am the proud owner of an ASAT hollow. personally, i absolutely love the hollow version. i'd say the real difference is just about what you'd expect: the hollow is more resonant, warmer, rounder, woodier, etc., while the solid one has more of spanky, stringy (not in a bad way, i like stringy) solid tone. seeing you already have a solid L2000, my rec would be to get the hollow. :)

  • man! that creature sounds perfectly good

  • @megamicron

    Thank you so much!

I´m a Fender man; I play with Fender since early eighties. But now I´m playing in my band with this G&L ASAT, other Leo Fender creation. I love this instrument. It´s easy to play, it got good tone, versatile... It´s my main instrument now.

    Cheers.

  • Thanks for putting the ASAT Bass on youtube. I have one in sunburst and it's an absolute monster, I love it! Why do you think they are not more popular? I don't mind, it's great going to gigs knowing you're going to sound better than everyone else!

  • Absolutely I agree.

Perhaps in eighties and nineties the people was looking for new shapes, contours, and G&L offers great quality and sound into conservative lines.

Other people was looking for vintage models (Jazz and Precision basses).

But G&L are GREAT instruments, the ultimate Leo Fender creation. I love these instruments.

I was playing Jazz and Precision for years, but now I´m playing in my band only with this ASAT. Superb playbility and sound, with an exclusive look.

    Cheers.

  • very nice bass! i really like the sound of the bass in this demo. and you're pretty good too! could you make another demo with G&L ASAT bass? its not very common bass - in fact it looks like this is the only video of this bass here on YT :-)

  • Thank you for commentary.

Well, I try to do it tomorrow

    Thank you for the interest.

    Cheers.

  • Well, a new video with this bass is available.

    Cheers

  • curious. about how much did this bass cost you??

    ~Bungee

  • Well, I changed my Gibson Money Bass in perfect mint condition for this one.

In this moment this G&L suits better than the Gibson with my band.

    Cheers.

  • Hey Santi, you got some great gear!! But I would be curious to know what is your favorite bass amongst the other!

    Great playing too!

  • Hello:

Well, now my favorite is this G&L because it brings a lot of suitable sounds and it´s very well made.

But I love the Rivoli, Jack Casady, Höfner, Bullet and Squier JV P-Bass also... mmm... and the Ibanez Roadastar too!

Well, each one is unique. I was playing for a decade with Jazz Bass USA; it´s great, but now my most usable bass is the G&L.

    Cheers
