His push for drastic increase in price of oli, prompted foreign powers to plan & support his over throw. The shah made 2 big mistakes; one he did not allow political participation from the early 70's as prosperity was growing. two he did not use the army to its fullest to crush the opposition in early statges. He had 3000 political prisoners, but after the revolution any where from 110,000 to 130,000 people have been executed for political reasons. 4482 people just in summer of 1988.

Why does the Royal guard behind the Shah (who is standing at a higher level even than the Shah himself) has a big Jewish Star of David hanging from his uniform (minute 1:00)? I wonder what message the Shah's masters were trying to send to the world by that....

i don't think that's not the star of david. the shah is wearing a similar shaped ornament but smaller. check it out a few seconds ahead.
