  • I know plenty of the 'old school' fans who do enjoy Blooddrunk and Are You Dead Yet?

Plenty of people I am certain like the newer albums that also enjoyed those first 4 albums in their time.

  • I have that exact same shirt, i love it.

  • Alexander Kuoppala ye also might notice its when Alexander left the band got shit! interesting BTW hatebreeder was the best

  • Dude, chillax already ;) I agree later album werent that good but I still love AYDY and Relentless Reckless forever. Constructive criticism > negative bs.

    also, is your inspiration comic book guy from simpsons (;

  • Damn, I usually love your reviews man, but I completely disagree with you on this. Children of Bodom has been my favorite band since I was 7 years old (16 now so I guess it's not that long but ya know), my older cousin introduced me to them them and I instantly fell in love with Something Wild, and after I listened to that started listening to their other albums and I loved them all. Even this and Blooddrunk I loved.

Still i respect your opinion, fuck these other people

    hail from Finland!

  • Angels can't kill ? thats Angels don't kill ..doing a review and mocking bodom without even knowing nearly anything about it

  • old school people like you? What are you like 25?

  • You know I agree coverkillnation completely on this. I regret buying Blooddrunk. and this is the same crap. My personal favorite from them is follow the reaper. But i really don't know what to call this new album... its not even death metal.

  • 7 minutes of bashing, if it pisses you off so much, why don't you listen to Decapitated, Dark Funeral, Ruines ov Abaddon or something. You could also surf around on the interwebs and find some unknown band to either love or bash. Music will change, but there are OTHER bands out there just as good if not better you mainstream moron.

  • @rocknXmyXworld What?? I LOVE fucking Bodom, in fact they've been my favorite band since the 4th grade, and sorry but they're more mainstream than the bands you just told this guy to listen to

QQ more, he has an opinion, who cares

  • @Mephisto2913

You must be a comment troll, 'cause dude, I don't remember posting that. It was probably my friend. I love Bodom, but in all honesty, this video could have been two minutes long because he repeated himself a lot. I think 7 minutes of bashing is a bit much but that's my opinion. I liked the CD personally, he didn't, I respect that. Oh, and if you love fucking Bodom, I suggest keeping that to yourself, I don't need to know what happens behind closed doors. Kaithanksbai!

  • @rocknXmyXworld No, i am not a comment troll, and are you retarded? that's all i have to say to your reply to me, "Kaithanksbai!"

  • @Mephisto2913

It's called a joke, learn to take one. "Kaithanksbai!" is a polite way of telling you to go fuck yourself. So yeah, duces bro.

  • i hated this album! if cob don't go back to there old roots then i think we need to be asking them if they are dead yet? jane's keyboards sounded like a fat guy farting into a tuba with a small child stuck inside it and alexi's voice just didn't sound right. i hated are you dead yet cuz that album made COB mainstream and now everyone knows who they are and its fucking irritating cuz you dont feel unique. the solo's sounded (IMO) like and 80's hair metal band. something wild - HCDR are the best!

  • He is 100% right!

  • I just don't hear it. I just don't hear this massive horrid change that many a fan say has occured on the last three COB records. Admittedly Hatebreeder, Follow, and HCDR are there best albums. HB being my favorite. However I simply don't consider the last three albums to be that far behind those three greats. I hear a lot of the same excellent stuff. Seriously Something Wild is my least favorite COB album. It all just sounds fucking incredible too me and I'm fucking glad about that.

  • okay you're either going to take this serious or you are going to stop it. just stop being the inconfident jabberwocky in between.

  • I didn't think the playing was that bad. Yes, it's simplified, but it's still good, and it's still impressive. My problem is the editing. I think whoever edited this was a complete idiot. The guitars lack the harsh sound they had, they're starting to blend into the mix. So are the keyboards. So is the bass. So are the drums. A universal tone knob has been turned back all the way, and I am missing the mids and the treble.

  • BUT THE VOCALS. I don't hear Alexi screaming anymore. I hear distortion. It sounds like they took his vocals off of Needled 24/7 and scooped them, added more distortion, and threw them in. And another thing. I HEAR TOO MANY ALEXIS. One Alexi is enough, don't turn him into a one-man-choir like some pop song.

Back to the playing. It's gotten a lot more discordant. Some of it is actually more creative than previous albums, but it's not nearly as prominent.

  • I've got pretty much the same opinion as the uploader.. I totally agree that the first 3 albums are absolutely kickass. In my opinion on HCDR was allready a slight change of style but it was still a really good album. AYDY is know the point where you got to admit that the unique style which they once had was gone but I still think you can not call it a bad album.. Blooddr. is the worst COB album. In my opinion RRF is a bit better than Blooddr. But why the fuck the don't go back to their roots

  • Whats with the elitist remarks about people who like Blooddrunk? lol I didn't think it was great but I have heard worse myself from other bands. People can like what they want.

  • are you dead yet is the best album, non-stop amazing. and this one is still very good.

  • One thing is sure. You can't argue with those CoB fans who are blindly wearing the fangogles. CoB has gone downhill pretty hard, and you can hear it on this record. Size of the dislike bar is kinda worrying, even thou I think you hit the nail once again. Your reviews rule!

  • I think Relentless is less like Blooddrunk, some of it sounds similar to their older stuff.

  • Gothenberg? Finnish metal idiot...

  • I thought Hate Crew Deathroll was their best

  • From Are You Dead Yet I liked Bastards of Bodom, If You Want Peace..., Next In Line.

Actually not a bad album, Blooddrunk was average though.

  • God, they suck so much now.

  • You should review their older albums too, Id like to know your thoughts on those epic albums.

  • i love all of children of bodom's albums cant really choose which is my favorite album all of them are amazing in my opinion :P

  • are you dead yet definitely got simpler and more streamlined but it was still a masterpiece. idk how you can say if you want peace was the only catchy song... the majority of them were catchy and great. youre right about blooddrunk though, it was even more simple and more streamlined and lost all of the catchiness.

  • Dude, when u said i would rather listen to chinese democracy i immediatly went "OH SNAP!!!!!" XD fucking hilarious bro

  • hey man, i respect your opinion, and i LOVE the old school bodom, but i also LOVE their new stuff, imo im just glad they havent made the same record 8 times, you can hear from each track what goes where they're very unique that way

  • U hate this album so much I have a band and album that u will like and I also would like u to review. The band is the absence and the album is riders of the plague. It sounds sorta like the older in flames stuff from the 90s.

  • loved this review. you are very entertaining. i was just as excited about this band as you were when i heard kissing the shadows for the very first time. such a sad turn of events. subscribed.

  • angles... dont kill

  • Well I guess everyone has an their own opinion. Personally I kind of liked it, not as much as some of their other albums but it was a moderately good album. I would give it a 8.5 or something like that

  • blooddrunk wasn,t bad at all it was just heavier and less melodic.

  • music is about opinion.

  • I don't really like CoB but I think you fail.

  • i was disappointed too but for 8.99 on best buy? not a bad buy lol

  • Having just heard the new album, I have to say I think its solid, not outstanding or great but it is solid, their early stuff much better imo.

  • @patorr69 i agree dude, its definatly badass

  • Comment removed

  • Its angles dont kill not "angles cant kill" RETARD RETARD REETARRRRRRRRRRRD.....bdm

  • the f? are you dead yet is as every cob album some brilliant and inspiring piece of music

  • They simply dont sound like CoB anymore.

  • Couldn't have said it better myself. Although there were some good songs here and there from the last three.

  • I hate you ! yeah bands sounds change and change it is good !!! there is nothing wrong with children of bodom or any other bands that like to actually play with different sounds !!! You know what listen to Metallica, Slayer and Slipknot and you really dont think that they have changed ! I love rock and I don't care what the bands do to get the sound as long as it sounds awesome and makes you wana scream your lungs out and go crazy !!! thats what it is all about :)

  • "angels don't kill" not "angels can't kill"

  • if this is wat metal fans are thinking of children of bodom new release which I think competes with the old stuff pretty well (I know their old stuff is better but not by the kind of mile your suggusting) metal could die no band will ever be gd enough

  • Dude I feel the same way about this. Also I'm pretty sure the so called "true cob fans" who say we are haters are outnumbered by the the real fans who agree with your opinion. Ps am I the only one who loved the song black widow from hatebreeder?

  • @laziexsin Nah man you cant be thats one of the classic hatebreeder songs that i love too. Best chorus ever

  • Although I agree with alot of what you said about the past few albums, Banned From Heaven is by far one of my favorite COB songs. That song is killer.

  • I blame the Producer for this.

  • I honestly dont know why people bash Are You Dead Yet so much, its pretty goddamn good. Blooddrunk was alright, It was in no way as terrible as people claim, but it just wasnt like the old shit, but hey, If they played the same style, and had the same sound forever, who would listen to them? And if they were confined to staying the same way forever, why would they want to keep on? Change keeps things interesting

  • @Tr3y00 I agree. I have almost all CoB albums and my two favorite probably are Hatebreeder and Are You Dead Yet. I have to concede that Blooddrunk was not that great give or take a few decent tracks, but Are You Dead Yet was by no means a bad album.

  • man u suck so much.....all their albums are fucking epic.and u know what you miss something!metal is not like bands puting out records to satisfy you(and i dont think u listen to this music for a long time otherwise you would see the impresive guitar-keybord work on are you dead yet and not call it SHIT).as for me i think bloodrunk gets a 6 when are u dead yet gets 9 and all their albums till then get 10.just listen to next in line"s solo, are you dead yets chorus, shovel knockouts structure!!!!

  • There were more bad songs on this new album than there were on the first 4 albums

  • 3:00 , lol, memorable, you know Katie Perry is memorable

  • BAAAAAAWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!

    You mad?

  • Really agree with you on this review to be honest, but I really spected this so for me It wasn't a dissapointment I downloaded this album to see what it sounds cause I didn't want to do the same mistake as I did with "Blooddrunk". For me Children of Bodom (1997-2005) I know "Are you Dead Yet?" was not the best record, but the songs that were good on that record were really good!!

  • whats funny is that when they started going down hill on are you dead yet is when alexandr left the band and roope joined.. am i the only one that noticed this?

  • @Mudgarden92 roope was in sinergy the whole time and they kept a good sound, roope is drunk most of the time anyway

come on alexi paints his nails it was destined

  • I like the cover songs from AYDY, Bloodrunk, and Relentless Reckless Forever... thats really about it.

  • I think their last good album was Are you Dead Yet. I like your review and I mostly agree with you. I'm glad I stumbled upon your channel.

  • There are a lot of songs from Bloodrunk and AYDY that I think are amazing. Don't get me wrong, My favorite albums are Follow the Reaper and Hate Crew Death Roll, but songs like Banned from Heaven off of Bloodrunk are at the top of my COB list right next to Everytime I Die and Sixpounder.

  • Dude. You have to expect shit like this. Look what happened to Metallica after they lost Cliff... Dive bomb (although I liked ...and justice). All things considered, this is a hell of a lot better than blood drunk. Any band that lasts over about 6-7 years are going to have a change in sound. It happens album to album to album. They're never going to sound like hate breeder again, so get over it. This is still a great band, they still deserve respect. Go bitch about something else.

  • 1337th viewer. Not to be confused with how un-LEET this album is.

  • white freediew!!

  • What band is on your T-shirt? :)

  • FAIL angels don't kill*

  • you say its bad man.. your opinion i accept that but u mst admit this album is alot better than blooddrunk and skeletons in the closet

  • I would consider your viewpoint but I can't stick my head far enough up my ass to dislike this album

  • Alexi Leiho, lol. They pwn dude! You go compose something like these guyz do !

  • truthfully i like their new album its not that bad but i like follow the reaper alot better

  • lol This guy is mad.

  • They've lost it. Those crazy riffs from singles like Everytime I Die, Hate me!, Children of Bodom are definitely not back. I read a few reviews stating that this band has "finally returned to their original Melo Death sound and reviving what they were famous for".

    *cough* bullshit.

  • garbage. I like their new cd

  • Something Wild-Great

    Hatebreeder-Amazing As Hell

Follow The Reaper- Epic As Fuck

    Hate Cew Deathroll- Very Good

Are You Dead Yet-Different, But Good

    Blooddrunk-Ok

Relentless, Reckless Forever- Better than bloodrunk, but alexi's vocals kinda killed it.

did you ever really think Alexi Laiho lost his old vocals from smoking and drinking, and touring. he had a great voice back in the day before he fucked it up. if you don't like it, don't fuckin listen to it.

  • Something Wild - Great

    Hatebreeder - Amazing

Follow The Reaper - Fucking Amazing

Hate Crew Deathroll - Great but not perfect

Are You Dead Yet - Okay

    Blooddrunk - Crap

Relentless, Reckless Forever - Breath of fresh air from Blooddrunk but only worth a few listens

  • @gaarax9 blooddrunk crap?your an idiot

  • I think this album and Are You Dead Yet were great. You need to realize a band grows as time goes on, most diehard assholes wont like it but it's an important aspect of being a musician. So instead of getting on here and trashing them maybe you should grow up and not be a douche. You can not like it, thats fine, but dont get on here and act like you know how to make a better album. If you did we'd be listening to your music not Bodom's. Douche!

  • @MISSISSIPIMETHHEAD i agree with everything your saying, it's ashamed people can't appreciate their new material, all their shit is good.

  • i was listening to the entire album about an hour agao and i don't remember a single melody from the album. I remember fast drumming, fast guitar solos, and screaming vocals but not in a good way. Cob isn't cob anymore... Alexi is cob and that is not good

  • I really like this album, but hey I respect your opinion. Good Review

  • bla bla bla old-school.... fuck this

  • I'm "old-school".

    I like their old albums.

    I like their new albums.

I even like their demos as "IneartheD"

    Bad review

  • I don't get it how you can love old Bodom but can't love new Bodom... I actually feel like you just wanna complain about everything new. I don't know but anyway, I'm pretty much looking from music a good chorus and other is just extra so with this kinda musical taste I can say that RRF kicks major fucking ass and imo is the best Bodom album atm.

  • bla bla bla is ther best song

  • btw its *angels DONT kill* not CANT KILL.

  • I totally agree with you, i've been a fan for bodom for like 10 years or so. It seems that they prefer the bottle and fame more then musicianship. But, on the otherside, they accomplished everything and i think there i nothing more to gain.

As a musician I learned alot from bodom and they are also a huge influence on my band's music today. So, as you called it, the seal of approval is a factor in my band.

Hopefully this will make your day:

  • seems a lot of people aren't liking this album but I quite like it and hell at least its better than blooddrunk. And I agree that this album is nowhere near as good as the the old COB stuff butI has some decent parts. But I have to put thumbs down as you used BFMV as a metaphor for being crap so can't like this.

  • its not angels can't kill, it's angels dont kill. good review!

  • You said said what I think about this band.

    Great past, ugly present.

  • true COB are dont make songs like they used to, but still are you dead yet was a good album, and some songs from bloodrunk were ok..

  • hey coverkiller, you should review the new turisas album

  • Good review.

That's exactly what I feel about them.

I think they just lost the ability to produce those catchy songs like Bed of Razors, Towards Dead End. Really every song on the Hatebreeder album is so memorable.

The darkness, the despair, the pain, the power, those catchy riffs, melodies and harmonies all gone. Real real shame.

  • to be honest i love both old and new and this album is better then bd and aydy though

and if bodom started with style from the beginning you would have liked them

  • Typical nerd who only likes bands unpopular BAD bands which no one has ever heard of.

  • @RiaKi The fact that you can't even speak English properly discounts your entire arguement.

  • @RiaKi u mad?

  • @RiaKi He likes Opeth, they are unheard of?

  • I'm still impressed by your ability to record videos in one shot from beginning to end without cutting or editing. Especially with these huge descriptions in it!

  • I agree that their earlier stuff is a lot better.. BUT I did really enjoy this album

  • You can only go so far with the same metal formula.

  • I feel the same way about Protest the Hero's new record, haha. It was just the same whiny vocals and noodly guitars the whole way through. Took me every ounce of patience to finish it.

  • why do you hate sirallaboutmusic?

  • @brianz1214 lol, once again, i don't. in fact he and i are pretty good friends, so we jab. also, i recorded this in one take, i'd lost my original thought, so i reached into that trough. i believe my original statement was meant to be something like "I'd rather listen to "More Than A Feelin" by Boston for all eternity, while being dressed up like a Lady Gaga rip-off"

  • BloodDrunk was soooo bad, from That album I Don´t Like this band anymore, this is a better record, but I am old school fan. The first three o four CDs of the band are great...and I must says classics to the genre, but the last ones are soooo boring...COB Fail again

  • blood drunk i hated so mutch this one sucks even worse the best are fallow the reaper= amazing are you dead yet i really liked hatebreeder i own hate crew death roll was good but the last 3 have sucked so mutch

  • LOL

  • i like old and new bodom, and i think this record thrashes. but i respect your opinion.

  • @talkingorsomething that's what its all about. my opinion is mine, and yours is yours. if you listened and liked it, cool. i can respect that as well.

  • I agree with you 100%

  • I have the same Death shirt

  • The thing is I have all their CDs and love them all I would like to know why it's not ok for a band to change their sound anyway I'm going to see them in London on the 9th of April with Amon Amarth and ensiferum so I could not really give a fuck tbh :D and I expected this album to be simplified so I guess I wasn't dissapointed lol

  • Dude, I totally agree. Hatebreeder & follow the reaper are actually important albums that i can call classics - they were so creative in terms of riffs and mixing the genres, while being incredibly catchy at the same time. The whole bodom lake thing was the coolest concept(well, it was real!). now its all meaningless.

  • well i dont like your reviews i mean seriously they are a great band i love all of there stuff and there are a great band you are just a hater like tons of other of people narrow minded.

  • What's wrong with Type O? :o

  • @GamerTrashed LOL nothing. the insult was more the fact that Lars Ulrich would be doing ANYTHING with them. haha.

  • @coverkillernation Oh right ^^

Actually I seem to remember now you even put out an RIP video for Steele when he died last year.

  • this band B LO W S,

  • I love this album it's soo good IMO

  • Feel the same way coverkiller

  • Wrong

  • dont get me wrong i like COB but i have never found them to be mind blowing in my eyes on every bodom album there are three or four amazing songs and the rest are just kinda of good but i have to agree blooddrunk and relentless both dont seem to have the amazing songs like the older Bodom albums, but at the end of the day bodom are still a decent listenable band and as a matter of fact im going to see them next month and looking foward to it cos i know that they will play all the amazing songs

  • Bad review. These are the most catchy songs since Hate Crew Deathroll.

  • I have yet to listen to Bodoms new cd.. probably going soon to get it.. but I defintely get where you're coming from.. and my personal favorite Bodom cd is Hatecrew Deathroll.. like you said.. those songs stick in your head.. between Bloodrunk and Are You Dead Yet?.. I thought Alexi's vocals in Blooddrunk are less clear.. similar thought with Are You Dead Yet?.. which made it more difficult to drive down the road screaming along.. now.. although I love Bodom.. I like all their cds.. but I defin

  • look its seems that like wwe people are going backwards to me children of bodom are going in a newer direction. i thought this cd was rteally creative but i'll check out there older material. still i loved listening to relentless reckless forever. for some reson metal blade aired a video about there album which is my favorite label. sure to some old school metal fans this is a horrible record but to me it sounds exotic.

  • i never realy heard of children of bodom been seeing all these emo kids hottopic kids wearing children of bodom shirts alot so i deicided to listen to them it sounds aweful just plain aweful to me

  • Best album since Hatecrew Are U Dead Yet and Bloodrunk was puke sell out shit. Where back to the old stuff inventive guitar work new stuff for CoB and thrash esque riffs the, the riffs are catchy as shit big surprise.

  • @MetalforNations blooddrunk sell out shit?not really

  • @killromes Its a essentially a watered down version of there sound with shit riffs. Ideal for kerrang faggots.

  • @MetalforNations well if you think but is way better that this album.

  • This album goat shit through a severed donkey dick. I knew this album was gonna be bad just by the album title and song titles.

    SAAM reference FTW.

  • asshole. this cd was amazing. fuck you stick to shitty gun and roses there horrible.

  • @SVSR2011 Listen to the albums mentioned above and tell me which is better.
