Its Otherworldly, theres no silly effort to over-do this scene with close-ups and jumpy editing, and grey somehow gives it a dusty unified quality also quite alien. I like it.
The static composition and the scale relationship of the player to the room and the distance to the viewer make this a brilliant little scene. The childs disinterest and placement so close also makes for great domestic realism.
Very good performance and visual. But why not use color image very well satured? After B&W film also didn't exist in Bach period. Would look beautifull in colors, as many novies we saw with plot in that period.
I have always wanted to see the work of Straub and that woman he worked with .Their essays and work was so important.

I would like more informatin about the movie. The book I have read it at least a thousand times and its the best portrait of Bach that I know of

I think this movie was filmed in the 60's, so maybe it was filmed in B&W because coloured films were too expense?

Muito original, tentaram passar a idéia de como se realmente tivece gravado na época do estilo da música.
Muito bom para termos idéia de como era a época, quem tocava, até mesmo as vestes e as casas de algumas pessoas.
