  • Nice review, but you repeat yourself a lot..

Now to the review, uhm... buttons on the side here you can see. Okay the review -

Haha, but seriously, lovely review. Wish I had this phone, sooo bad.

  • i like the phone alot i already have it its nice

  • does the g1 have aim

  • yes

  • YEah it has.. yahoo... aim....MSn

  • 1. it has an accelerometer.

    2. they are making an on screen keyboard in a future update.

    good review! =]

  • so i was debating on getting either the G1 or the quickfire for christmas...which one do u suggest? i'm leaning more towards the G1 because of all its features. plus I heard about a hack for the accelorometer. plz respond!

  • I have not used the quickfire, but I am really liking my G1. It seems that you are really looking at the G1 and have thought about it, so I would go what is going to work the best for your use, or what features you like more with either phone! I hope this helps!

  • great video todd, keep up the good vids! :)

  • Thanks! I am trying to provide great video's for everyone! If you have any suggestions or ideas please let me know!

  • Great vid, the g1 is faster then the iphone on the browser

  • cool :D

  • Great review.

I really want to get this phone I was just kind of confused about the battery life but I love how it's not tied into iTunes and restricted by apple.

I should be getting this phone in about a week.

  • The battery isn't as bad as all these Apple fan boys make it out to be. It's not the best, but if you use this phone like any normal person should, and plug it in before you go to bed, you'll be fine. It's a powerful device, it uses a lot of energy. People use it non-stop for the first couple days they have it, like a child with a new toy, so of course the battery is going to drain. Once you get over the "oh man this is cool" phase, you'll be fine. :]

  • Sweet!

Thanks man, that's alot of help.

Getting the white one and I guess the invisible shield also.

  • Great. Glad I could help. Check out my channel in the coming weeks for tons of G1 videos. I'll be covering everything, and if you have any other questions, I'll be glad to help.

  • Yeah the battery life does need some work, but hopefully they will get to this issue in the upcoming updates!

  • if he's talking about an accelerometer, then yes it does, theres a hack that lets you rotate the screen without opening it, and how do you think it knows which way your holding the phone in the street view on maps? it does have one. its used in the sizemograph app too.

  • Thanks for clearing that up, it does have one, but the programs need to be written for it to work!

  • No problem, i thought the same thing at first. As far as apps go.. there is a new browser available in the Market that utilizes the accelerometer, it's called Steel. You just turn the phone side ways and the screen switches to landscape, no opening or anything. Don't worry my friend, if these developers keep at this pace this phone is going to go down in history. lol

  • That's exciting man, Congradulations. I came SOOoo close to buying a G-1 a few weeks ago, but instead purchased a IPod Touch. But I may still upgrade my existing entry-level phone for the G-1. I did a review many months ago, now if only You Tube will help me turn it back on, after it fell victim to a false claim made against me. I used some artwork from another fellow You Tube user which I got his permission and gave him credit.

  • hey it does have a Accolometer thinging...

  • great vid!

  • Thanks!
