There's something different about this stove and the day before stove. It doesn't burn as hot when the simmer ring isn't there. I still have work to do. Ha. What a ridiculous waste of time. :) With outside jets, you can just set the pan on top the stove. But with outside jets you lose all the heat that makes the stove bloom.
I'm having a ball building these stoves. Let me add that the hole sizes don't make a lot of difference. I use a Needle about .025 thick. and make the holes about a 1/4 inch apart. I said 2 or 3 ozs of fuel. further tests have shown much less fuel for 40 minutes of burn. Needles start a hole easier than a drill which skitters around before it starts. Let me add that a wind break is way important with these stove. I use 2 coke can sides and bend them together for a 5 inch tall windbreak.
