No....that's a JOKE....It was NOT 21 minutes long...there was no second part....and this was all a hoax by the director (Yhea....and it wasn't filmed in the twenties either....It was all an eladorate hoax designed by the letterists)
i'm really trying to find an mp3 of this soundtrack. its absolutely incredible. i went on paul mercer's myspace and looked around a bit, but can't find anything. does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
@checkeronetwo No, Man Ray didn't die at Auschwitz. Desnos, whose poem this is based on, died as a result of his time in a concentration camp, but not Auschwitz.
I think it would have been interesting seeing it when it was originally shown, as the different music would have brought it's own mood to the piece. Saying that, I think that the new soundtrack is perfect for this film, but wouldnt it have been interesting to see it with an upbeat melody?Would it have brought across the same message?
You know what mate? You're an idiot. I don't see why pricks like you choose to publicly insult others over the internet, especially via youtube, and on videos such as this.
Man Ray was a genius. You're just a nob who most probably cant please your girlfriend and so take it out on the rest of the world....
thanx4 sharing this video. Man Ray is a great artist. i am interested in this kind of artistic expression nowadays. Do you know any works (video art visual art etc.) that echo with this Dada Surrealism art .. ?? 10x again.
There was no original music with this film. It was made in the era of the completely silent film. The moviehouse that played the film would have been responsible for providing the soundtrack. Which meant that you could have seen this film in three different theatres with three different soundtracks back when it was made. I composed this soundtrack for the Kino release of the film a few years ago. I tried to do Man Ray justice on my extremely limited budget. I hope it worked!
thank you!!!!!

Its true what you say, I saw this video with a happier tune and the message I got from it was very different from what I see now.

Genious isn't a word. It's always fun to see idiots write that and own themselves.
