The sadiest part of the Anna and Robert story was FH geting fired in Dec 91 and TR leaving right afterwards perhaps her firing was the final straw for him and he wanted to leave. To think they finally allowed ANNA and Robert to remarry after all this time just to fire her and ruin everything for the fans of these two good job GH!

finola hughes is the most talented entertaining and still as always beautiful actress. her quick wit and facial expressions alone hold down a scene. she is never on long enough and i long for the days of scorpio-devane adventures. there is a love which will never die. luke and laura may have the romeo and juliet type love but robert and anna have it all. hope robert returns healthy on night shift and the 2 are back on gh next season. forever a fan since day 1 :-)

Luke and Laura left town before Anna came to town. So by the time they came back Anna was gone. Holly only knew Laura briefly also, in Texas. They left in 83 and returned in 93 with Lucky. So Anna only just met the Spencer family here.What a privledge to see them all together again.

What a lost opportunity for GH directors/writers to exercise creativity, not to mention a disappointment for "old" Devane-Scorpio fans.  No aura of mystery, no real tension, no emotional chemistry, not even a sense of the bittersweet, despite Anna's comment (ref. next clip). Just cynicism, sharpness, anger unresolved-- which reflects the hostile culture we're inhabiting. (What happened to the dramas that sparked our imaginations and made us love these characters?)

I agree completely. The Devane-Scorpio relationship was built on deep respect, prior history and an indefinable chemistry. Those were the elements that kept people watching GH back then. Their return was a major "writing" disappointment. The writers tried to pull it off by making it flashy and quick instead of investing time for subtlety- something GH lost around 1991. Maybe this new "Night Shift" soap will get the Scorpio-Devane equation right. I hope so. I still love Robert and Anna!

I think the writer Sri Rao did a pretty fine job in the last several NS2 episodes restoring Robert and Anna's relationship to an appropriate state. I do so hope to see Tristan and Finola inhabit their "true' legacy characters on GH in future, including for the Scorpio-Drake wedding.

I just caught up with "Night Shift" and I think you're right about Sri Rao. I applaud him! He did indeed restore Robert and Anna to their true selves:) My only complaint is that the storyline was soooo brief- but it proves how charismatic and talented Finola and Tristan are- that they could work their magic so quickly, make us cry, and keep us wanting more!!!! Please Sri, I want...more!
