Thanks for much for posting this! I had read about this record just recently, but I never thought I'd be able to listen to it. I love the movie and this is just as fantastic!
If anybody wants a DVD of Mickey's Christmas Carol AS ORIGINALLY AIRED in the 80s with the Donald and Pluto cartoons before it AS WELL AS Michael Eisner's introduction at the beginning, then please send me a PM.
I WARNED YOU CHRISTIANS, DELIVERANCE IS COMING, SEAL YOUR SELF WITH HOLY SPIRIT!
Do not pollute yourself with CHRISTMAS DAY, CHRISTMAS TREE, SANTA CLAUSE, and all other filth of the MOTHER OF ALL HARLOTS, do not follow her most holy father namely ACHAN.
I own a rather different audio version of this recording; actually it's mostly identical to this one, but in place of Merlin, the old hag, and Honest John and Gideon, it has actual dialogue from the short itself. Hearing how it originally was prior to this featurette is very interesting indeed.
It was Jim MacDonald. I believe this was the time that he was training Wayne Allwine to be the new and still current voice of Mickey Mouse. Wayne did not really debut as Mickey until, ironically, the 1983 version of this very show.
Ghosts? Yes. Witches? No. Not sure why he says witches...

I wish I still had the book. I have the LP but no book to go along with it. Damn it.

MICKEY: Master Fred has brought us a Christmas wreath. May I hang it on our door?
SCROOGE: You do and I'll hang one on you!
LOL!!!! :D I wish they'd kept that line in the final version of this story. :)

Who's voicing Mickey in this? Is it Jimmy McDonald? It doesn't quite sound like him. And I don't think it's Wayne Allwine.
Ninski 4 years ago
I think the voice of Mickey in this version is performed by Alan Dinehart, who also scripted the story.
TerryT1976 4 years ago
CORRECTION: I just learned that Alan Young, who did Scrooge on the album, aslo performed as Mickey Mouse and Merlin the Wizard.
TerryT1976 4 years ago
Yes, and after this, Alan Young became the perminent voice of Scrooge.
scottof83 3 years ago 3
@scottof83 That's not quite true. When they adapted this into the animated version, he had to audition to get the role back.
