The Airplane came on in the Afternoon , a black guy came on the stage and was then attacked. Marty jumped down in the crowd & was hit. That doesn't excuse a whole day and evening of vicious, drunken gestapo behavior of the HA. Look, a lot of people were drugged up or drunk at that concert. It would be more likely to assume that Meredith was aiming at one of the Hell's angels whose violence kept provoking the Stone's to stop the show. It's a testament to the Angel's that anyone was even coherent enough to take down Hunter as quickly as he did. And as stupid as it may have been pulling out a gun, considering that the gun was not loaded, maybe Hunter was just trying to let the Angel's know they didn't need to be bullied that night.

If you truly watched any of the footage from that night you can see the sheer panic in the Stone's faces, not just from the overwhelming, often violent, excitement for the free show, but the drunken, drugged up Hell's Angels who frequently jump on and off the stage and insist on handling the situation with the most brute force possible only escalating the violence of the moment.
