"Whatever it was, I'm sure it was better than my plan to get out of this by pretending to be mad. I mean who would have noticed another madman around here?"
There is a very strong message in those final seconds - for there are many fields throughout Europe with beautiful flowers above the ground and the bones of countless fallen soldiers underneath...
This is one of the few movie endings that can chill me to the bone.
After all those hilarious episodes of blackadder you can't help but to live along with the characters. You feel like you actually know Blackadder, Baldrick and the others personally. This makes this part even more sad.=/
The worst part of this is that this was ENTIRELY true. Their generals were real self-centered clowns when it came to knowing what life was like in the trenches for these soldiers :(
@georgemmark Thanks - it really would be worthwhile. This episode is a remarkable piece of film but even to have it from when Captain Darling comes in the bunker would be fantastic.

I didn't cry during The Green Mile, I didn't cry during Marley and Me, I didn't cry during Forrest Gump, I didn't cry during Titanic, I didn't cry during Armageddon, I didn't cry during The Shawshank Redemption, I didn't cry during The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, I didn't cry during I am Sam, I didn't cry during Schindlers List, but I balled over crying in this :'(
I do voluntary work for the elderly and I asked a group of them who remember the war, if they think that people are better now and that a war fought for freedom has been gained.....they also said no and have seen no sign of this freedom. They also said how they were conned into it.
One old boy nearly 94 said how tragic it was he lost all his mates.

I don't know why but hearing Blackadder say "Good Luck everyone" is a pretty powerful moment.

One episode of Blackadder=all of the creative seconds added together on every Sitcomm produced in Hollywood for the past decade. I stand by that.

@Njugglesvatn I'll be happy to oblige. I'll have a go at uploading over the weekend. If not then, perhaps sometime within the week. Cheers.

Step forward now, you soldier,
You've borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell

It's annoying you can't see Baldrick climbing over, I can only see three. I like it, but I think they could have filmed it with more of a sad angle.
